Hurricane Katrina Sunday I just want to say my heart goes out to every member in Katrina's path. It is now showing to soon be at a level 5 with catistrophic damage. Please be safe, please know how much we all are thinking of you. My thoughts and prayers go out to you all. |
My thoughts and prayers are with you too. Please be safe, and get out of her way. |
I just found out that Katrina is still active. I had thought that it hit Florida. I'm worried, too!!! |
It is only the 4th category 5 since they have been keeping records! Please evacuate if you are on the Gulf Coast of LA or MS! God bless! |
please stay safe everyone!!!!!!!!! My thoughts and prayers are with everyone in its path! I can't believe its a Cat 5 now.... Do what you need to do to be safe. I know Carter'smom had to be evacuated....I hope all is well. I think its safe to say we will all be praying for ALL OF YOU!!! |
my thoughts and prayers go out too! i was reading that it could put new orleans completely underwater!! how scary is that!! |
I am thinking of ALL of the people I know and those I don't as they prepare for Katrina! Please be safe! I have the TV on and they are making it sounds like a storm of the cnetury!! So scary.... :( |
This may not be of much help to most of you, but I live in North Alabama, straight up I-65, and will gladly accomodate any YT'ers who have to evacuate due to the Hurricane. I think I'm about 6 hours from NOLA, but I also know all the hotels are filling up quickly. If you need a place to stay for a few days, PM me. Seriously! I've made this offer an another internet forum as well, because I want my friends to be safe & sheltered! JEnnifer |
I am worried I have fox on now... Its something to see the folks lined up with backpacks and pillows to get to a shelter... I feel afraid for them...and then not knowing if their homes will be there when they get out... And...Carters Mom..is there anyone that knows her and how she is? |
Hello everyone! I am Carter's sister for all of you who don't know. Lisa is my mom. She evacuated at midnight last night and safely made it to her hotel this morning with both puppies in tote. They will stay there till Wednesday atleast. She is suposed to have internet connection but it was down when I talked to her earlier. I will keep everone posted till she is able to get on again. Thank all of you for your prayers! It means the world in a situation like this. |
Hey everyone. First time the Internet is up since we arrived. As Michelle said, we arrived at 5:45 AM after leaving home at 12:20 AM last night. There was absolutely no traffic travelling at night and I'm so glad we made the trip when we did. What took us two hours to travel, took others 4 hours to travel this morning. I pray for the safety of everyone including my older sister and her family that decided to stay home in the path of this monster storm. This will most probably be the most financially burdening natural occurring catastrophe in US history. New Orleans and south Louisiana will never be the same. Thanks for the concerns that were expressed by members here. :) Lisa |
Please everyone...be safe. Don't take any chances!!! Good luck and my prayers are with you and your families. Joy |
Why did your older sister decide to stay when it is so dangerous? Glad you are safe. :) dianne and prudence :) |
My thoughts are with everyone who may be affected! Lisa, I'm glad you are safe and I wish your family the best! |
Please ad our prayers and good thoughts to the list for anyone in the path of this storm...be safe! Teri & Jo-Jo |
Lisa... Thanks for the update..your so thoughtful... We are thinking of you...let us know if you need anything! Stay safe...and I hope your home is fine... hugs.. |
Glad you and your family is safe, Carters Mom! Thanks for the update, I hope New Orleans and Louisiana can recover after what happens, perhaps there may be a nationwide (or even worldwide) relief effort for the area, just like there was for the tsunamis in Asia! |

At last check, they were getting steady rain and winds were picking up. We're definitely worried about them and pray for no harm to come to them. I've seen the devastation storms can do as a licensed insurance agent. I got out of that career area after Hurricane Juan. It was a nightmare and heartache to see what those people went through in trying to get their damages assessed and compensated. I did however, contact our Farm Bureau district manager by cell since I've arrived here and offered my help in photographing damages for their clients once we all return home. The DM is in Alexandria, about an hour or so from where I am now. Hopefully we'll all be able to return to Lafourche Parish soon. Lisa |

Lisa~I am glad you made it to safety and I will be thinking of your family who stayed behind for the dog. |
Lisa, I hope for the best for you and your family... |
Thank you Karen! We're still looking for damage assessments - they are scarce. Most people don't have phones that operate without electricity so no one is answering their home phones. All the teenagers (whose cell #s we know are still sleeping!) Lisa |
I have in my prayers at all that are in the path of Hurrican Katrina. Lisa. Please stay safe. Ty for keeping us posted. |
