Seasonique - birth control My doctor just switched me to this birth control & I'm not sure I like it. I've only been taking it since sunday & I have an aweful headache today. I did some research on the internet & i'm not happy with the things I've read. Does anyone have any experience with it? |
I don't have experience with that one, but I just started taking Yaz and think they may be similar. I have to take it to help w/ pain for an ovarian cyst. So, I take it right through - skip the white pills - and skip over my cycle entirely. Try to hang in there if you can - it's *usually* the first couple months that the side effects are the worst. Make sure to pay attention to the "see your doctor asap" potential side effects though, as those can be more critical. I am doing okay so far on it, with some side effects but not too bad. I'm on month two. What have you read? |
Everything I've read says things like being very sick to their stomach, severe anxiety, severe headaches, & mood swings. I was on Yaz for a year & think it's what was causing me to gain weight & have no energy. I thought seasonique would be better, but I think it's just the same. I think I wanna try a lower hormone formula for a while. |
I am the queen of problems with BC. First of all, the most important thing I learned was DO NOT read any reviews/opinions/etc. about the different BC on the internet. I used to do that I and swear I manifested half the symptoms I was having just from what I read. That being said, I am extremely sensitive to all medications so it was hell finding a pill that didn't screw me up. Seasonique is a very low dose pill, and by taking it continually it keeps your horomones in line better than the pills where you have a period every month. Give it a couple months, you might really like it. But definitely give it some time. I completely can relate to you and feel so bad! Good luck and if you need any support I'm here for ya girl! |

The first month or two of taking Yazmin, I felt nauseous and actually couldn't hold in some food. After that, I was fine and no other side effect other than a permanent bloat. So that definitely contributed to a bit of weight gain and that last for the almost full year I was on it. Then I stopped taking it. Bloatedness went away and eventually peeled off those extra pounds naturally as I didn't do anything different and didn't get any more exercise than before (which is none at all). |
I have never taken birth control pills of any kind but if I did I would stick with a product that has a long proven track record for safety.....I was always told to never take any kind of medication that is new to the market..All of the side effects, whether short term or long term, are never known until the product is introduced to the general population and is taken by millions of people then the real side effects will become known ...In other words, the public's the guinea pigs, that's just the way it works.....I hope this medication is ok long term...... |
