Yorkie Candy Bar???
 

Okay so i have heard so much about this candy bar.... has anyone tried it is it good??? Where can i find it? Do they sale it in the states or only in the UK?

Yes, they sell them here in the states too. I've seen them, but I've never tried one. They're weird, huh?

Yeah i don't remember how i came across them, but i have never seen them in the states or anywhere for that matter...LOL! Im kinda curious as I would like to try it.... Hey anything with the name yorkie has got to be good! LOL

I got some from my GE buddy (she's in the UK) and I bought some when I was in England. The one I had was just a solid milk chocolate. What could possibly be wrong with that, right? I've never seen them here in the US, but I heard that they do sell them here. I don't know where!

They have them at World Market...or they used to..haven't check in a while.:)

You can find them at Meijer Stores here in Michigan. I've had one...plain chocolate... was good. :D

I've heard of them but have never tried one...I don't think I ever see them here for sale :confused: :(

It was made to complete with the Chunky candy bar, and the words, "Not for girls" meant only a man could eat that much chocolate. Lol, they don't know their market. I thought "birds" was an english expression for girls, smiliar to chicks. Really dumb ad campaign, but the name's cute.

Ahhh thats funny yeah ..... you would think it would be for girls....LOL we need the chocolate more then men do...LOL at least once a month i would say....hahahahaha

Yorkie bars are one of my faves! They come in a few different varities, biscuit and raisen is yummy! They also come in a chocolate snack biscuit. I know they sell them on our ebay(UK) and I'm pretty sure they send them international! I always include some in my GE packages:D

"Bird" is another name for a female over here. Kinda like chick. Alot of parks and highly bird populated areas have signs up that say "Do not feed the birds" so it's a play on words almost.

Most UK chocolate bars are slim. The Yorkie is nearly 3/4" of an inch thick and is solid chocolate! Each chuck is literally a mouthful. The product was aimed at men because most chocolate bars are pretty girly so Nestle changed their advertising campaigne to the "Not for girls" There is a rival bar made by Cadbury, (Nestle and Cadbury are the market leaders in the UK for chocolate), and they have a bar which is similar in design but thinner called the Dairy Milk. Their advertisment was very girly and showed a woman enjoying her chocolate, nibbling it, etc... so Nestle advertised the Yorkie which a Trucker biting the huge chucks off whole. :rolleyes: Pretty much all chocolate ads are aimed at women so Nestle just aimed one at men. They also have special ones that they said to the Military for ration packs, (they also advertise the Yorkie on the sense that it's a hunger buster), and on the side of those it says "Not for civvies". They also do a limited edition once in a while that's a pink wrapper and says "Not for men".

I will have to look for these, I've never heard of them.
I'm a chocolate lover, so this is combining two of my favorite things!!

I remember my first trip to England ,seeing them ,I ended up bringing home ALOT of them ! then I started finding them here in the states. and yep I work at Meijer and they are in our international food aisle

What a coincidence! I just bought one at Meijers the other day! My son thought it was funny that it said "Not for Girls".

I frequent the international section at Meijers a lot because my son's favorite cookie ever is Jammie Dodgers.
