Need A Good Recipe for beef stew with the weather being so chilly here beef stew sounds so good .I use to have my fathers recipe for stew and i cant seem to find it .and i cant ask him because he's passed away 4 years ago so I'm just wondering if any one has a good recipe for stew ,I'm getting sick of making chilli and chicken noodles and beef and noodles,just want something new for the cold winter night.and something that you can get at least 2 or more meals out of it. I can send 2 for you right now, you can also find all kinds of recipes on All recipes – complete resource for recipes and cooking tips Baked Beef Stew 1 can (14 1/2 oz) diced tomatoes, undrained 1 cup water 3 Tablespoons quick cooking tapioca 2 teaspoons sugar 1 1/2 Teaspoon salt 1/2 teaspoon pepper 2 lbs beef stew meat 4 med. carrots 3 med. potatoes 2 celery ribs 1 med. onion 1 slice bread, cubed in a large bowl, combine first 6 ingredients. Add remaining ingredients and mix well. Pour in to a well greased 13x9x2 cake pan or 3 qt baking dish. Cover and bake at 375 for 2 hours |
Beef Stew 1/4 cup flour 3 1/2 teaspoons salt 1/4 teaspoons pepper 1 1/2 lbs stew meat 1/4 cup shortening 2 med. onions 1 bay leaf 4 cups water 6 potatoes cut in 1 inch pieces Combine 2 Tbsp flour 1 1/2 teaspoons salt and pepper. Coat meat with seasoned flour. Brown in shortening for 20-30 minutes in a dutch oven. Add onions and bay leaf. Brown 5 minutes longer. Add 2 3/4 cup water. Cover tightly and simmer for 1 1/2 hours until meat is tender. Remove bay leaf, add potatoes and carrots, 1 cup water and 2 teaspoons salt. Cover and cook 30 minutes until veggies are tender. Blend 2 Tbsp flour and 1/4 cup water. slowly add to stew stirring constantly until thickened |
Mine is very similuar to this one. I brown in the presurecooker and then cook in the pressurecooker for about 15 minutes. Then I use the "broth" for the base and add the rest of the ingre. and let simmer for a few hours. Enjoy Quote:
