Great thread...I was born and raised in Illinois. That is the ONLY reason I am still here...LOL!!! It's interesting to read the responses so far. Maybe some day I'll move, but by then I'll probably be too old to really enjoy it. |

Right now I live in Corpus Christi, TX and I really like it a lot. We have beautiful beaches and parks and amazing wildlife! I love the weather and the people in TX are just plain nice! We are close to Mexico, which is cool, but living here the only thing close is San Antonio (2hours) and then Austin or Houston. Both of which are a blast! If I had to move I think I would like Colorado and I have always wanted to try Seattle! But I think I'm here forever! I love my job! |
This is a great post by the way!!!:bravo::goodpost: I've lived in Lancaster, Pa. all 49 years of my life. It's not far to Phila.,Washington,Baltimore, Gettysburg and still rural to enjoy country life. We live in the suburbs. The gas is $1.59 per gallon right now. Weis Grocery stores have dropped prices on 2000 items and price-Froze prices on 400 plus other items. We have alot of really great grocery outlets too! Our winters are mild, Last year we had 8 inches for the whole winter. There are still tourists to see the Amish, You just ignore those areas. Cons are: alot of people from the city are moving out here to avoid the violence and then they start trouble. Esp. bringing drugs into the development. I put up No Tresspassing Signs and Beware of dog signs!!! The Police do visit the development alot more!!! That helps!! The summers aren't overly hot, But, Somedays the humidity is awful!! Thank-Goodness O.C. maryland is a 3 hour trip and we rent an apartment that allows my furbabies!!! I'd love to live in Florida with my Uncle but the Heat would be too much for me. I also have always wanted to visit the U.K. Because it reminds me of home minus the rainy weather!! :aimeeyork:cheersm8::cool88::twocents::mickey: |
I live in Miami,Florida and i think it's THE BEST! i i used to live in texas, california, jersey, & ohio and i would not leave miami for anything, my dog loves it too. the beach is so much fun, theres even specific areas for dogs in south beach , your dogs can go swimming in the beach and meet other friendly dogs. also pitbulls are not allowed here so theres alot less fear of your dog being attacked, the weather is always beautiful here too. its just amazing, i wouldnt trade it for the world & i defenetly recommend it. |
I live in Darien IL. have only been here 3 yrs. this is where my grandkids are and it was too hard leaving everytime we visited... We moved here from Ohio which I hated! Grew up in S. Calif. love the weather but would never want to move back. We like where we live outside the city so we have the best of both worlds.. Other than the winter its a great place to live!!!!!! |
i live in CA & LOVE it!! :) (so, i guess i'm not much help to you.... sorry!) |

The things I like about being here are the weather, we have pretty much no humidity at all, I like being able to go to the beach, being in Sac makes me pretty central to get to anything. What I don't like is that in the surrounding areas here it's very inconsistent as far as the quality of where you are at. I can drive down the street and be in a really nice area and if I drive another minute or so I'm in one that is more or less "ghetto". With the economy getting worse the crime rate seems to be going up, it's nearly impossible to get a decent job right now..the list goes on... |
