Shark Steam Vac Is this good for cleaning dog wee wee? Is it worth the money? Bed Bath & Beyond - Cleaning Steamers/Scrubbers |
I have the Shark, purchased through QVC for $69 with 7 machine washable pads (it comes with 2 and QVC had 5 extra...the pads are $20 for 2. I read some of the reviews and lots of people are breaking the handle either when getting it out of the box or when using it. The handle is not real sturdy and you should never use it by going side to side, that flexes the handle too much. Just forward and back. I would look for a sturdier model if I was replacing this one. The steam is very hot and dries quickly on my floors. I have pine wood in the kitchen, tile in the bathroom and vinyl in the breakfast nook. If you're going to use it for pee, I would suggest wiping it up with paper towel first and then using the Shark for sanitizing the floor. If you just go over it with the steam pad first I'm afraid you'll just have pee steam going back on the floor. The pads are machine washable (I put the used ones in a mesh bag when they're soiled and DH throws the whole bag in the wash). Hope this helps. |
I got this steam vac for xmas... well its a steam mop. It works very well. My mom has 2 dogs and got one for herself months ago. She loves it sooo much with the dogs that she got me one for Christmas. I used it yesterday and it seems to work really well! |
I have had the steam mop for a while and I like it, the only problem is that it hardly holds any water. I problem have to fill the water about 3 times just for the first floor. We have carpet in the 2nd story. |
Well, I got this for Christmas and used it for the first time yesterday on my wood floors. I wanted it too for the sanitizing - considering I have 4 dogs! I like it, but I find it a little hard to push. Like someone else said, it doesn't hold a lot of water, so if you have large rooms you'll certainly have to refill. Plus, it does recommend distilled water, although tap water is ok. Also, you definitely have to clean up the pee first before use this. |
