Buying from NextDayPets, Puppyfind, etc..
 

Hi all... I have a question I need pretty immediate responses to -- I am in the process of purchasing a puppy from a lady I found while browsing the site Next Day Pets.. (I love looking at pictures on there and puppyfind.com as well... just for fun!)
Anyway -- my son flipped out over this dog and I've emailed the lady a few times about it and if all goes as planned, I believe she'll chose me as its new home to be spoiled in...
Although nothing has sent up red flags, and I have no reason to doubt anything, I was wondering if other people have had experiences with buying off of the internet as opposed to local breeders....
is there anything in particular I should ask her? (I will be driving 8 hours to pick up the pup!!)

I bought my mother-in-law a female chocolate lab from www.puppyfind.com and we had NO problems whatsoever. Her lab was shipped to her and she has never had any health problems at all.

I found my Coco on the internet, but did a lot of talking to the breeder on the phone. She was shipped to me from Oaklahoma. It was a 5-6 hour flight. SHE IS GREAT!!!!!

Don't listen to her! Coco is a cross-dresser! :eek: :D :D :D

i got my austin at puppyfind also i never like flying a dog or getting one over the internet but all went well and me and the breeder are now good friends if i were to get another dog it would be from here austin is healthy and has a amazing temperment

Let me put in my experience with a "breeder" off that site. I too spent many hours and e-mails back and forth to a person for a young Yorkie male. He was totally misrepresented, the only truth was that he only weighed 4 lbs. He however is over 10 inches tall which did not show in the pictures and was not stated to me. I have kept him anyway as he is the most adorable ,loving, cuddly baby ever and I am back to looking for a male to raise for breeding.
The point of all that is that you better SEE the puppy/dog before any money exchanges hands.

Since you live close to me, I thought I would suggest looking in the Huntsville newspaper. There have been several Yorkies for sale in there recently. You wouldn't have to drive very far and could see the parents before making your decision.

I also bought my princess Chai from a breeder I found on the internet on puppyfind and spent a lot of time on the phone and emails. I would talk to her vet as a reference after he has seen the puppy and I would use a puppy escrow for the money exchange just to be safe. Congratulations
