Peta Peta just named Oprah Winfrey PERSON OF THE YEAR. I guess they now have a really famous mouthpiece with endless money and clout. Very disturbing news. I am surprised that ms Newkirk even talks to a person that has(OMG) pets. |
Since she got all of her dogs From a byb Or puppymill & Knew it i don't know why they would go & do that. Someone hayden panettiere Should have been choosen. |

Well, I hope the combination of PETA and Oprah benefits animal welfare. Since both parties have made efforts toward making this world a kinder place for animals, I see this as a positive. :) |
I just think it makes peta/newkirk a hypocrit in her ideals and what she tries to promote. (no pets, all animals should run free, etc) The other poster is correct, she picked oprah because of who she is. Also, peta is bashing Biden on his choice of getting a german shepard. Will they also bash Obama on his choice of a labradoodle? |

I dont think that everybody will be giving peta the big thumbs up when they eventually, with the help of people like oprah, make it almost impossible to own a quality Yorkie or other breed. They are already chiseling away at breeder/exhibitor rights one city/state at a time. If they only went after the mills/animal abuse it would be great, but that is not the case. They target everyone that has anything to do with animals. |
Oprah has power in this country, so they chose her, no surprise. Oprah picks the president, Oprah decides what diet is best, Oprah for some God forsaken reason has a lot of pull in this crumbling society. She has a strong will, I will give her that. Thats about all I will give her though. I don't have one positive thing to say about Peta. :) |
probably a marketing tool to attract her large fan base |
I think peta goes way to far with the things they do. |

Not a big fan of Oprah Winfrey either but she did do a few shows on puppy mills earlier this year. Hopefully it brought some light to that side of breeding and conditions in a lot of these mills. |
