We are making these glass blocks for some xmas presents and I made myself one.

I'd like to find a yorkie to put in the center but what would I use??????

Any ideas???

We have the next Carol Duval here.You are very talented, your glass block came out very nice.For the Yorkie, you can use a picture, maybe from your baby,on regular comp.paper, use decoupage to glue it on and a few coats on top, it dries clear and it will let the light go through. What did you use to drill the glass?

Real simple! We got the glass blocks from Lowes, drilled a hole in the glass, inserted the lights (line of 20 lights), and I wrapped the bow and use hot glue to secure it :)

LOL thanks, hubby used a 1/2 inch glass drill bit :)

That's the one I've used for it, but I guess I'm not applying enough pressure and it slides.

Neat idea. They would look really nice along the walkway up to my front door.Maybe next year. I have not even started decorating. Tomorrow I get the tree and then I'll put up the village, all 3 of them, and the outside lights and that's enough for this year.

If you soke the paper first in water, and then turn it over and rub real gentle, peeling the paper off you will get just the pic. I use a diamond head drill bit for glass.

Can you do that with regular printer paper? I do like that when I work with napkins

Breny, I don't know if this is how she does it, but if you make a color copy of the picture you want,I'm assuming is a Yorkie picture :) ,wet the paper, put it on surface you want it to go, color side down, and start rubbing the paper with your finger, very gently, the white paper will start rolling and will leave only the printed picture on the glass surface.

Give it a try to see if it works, since the surface you are working on is glass, I don't know how well it would work, you can also use transfer paper, or a product that helps the picture transfer to the glass, let me go and check on my craft closet and I'll give you it's name.

I would think you would have to stick it on with glue that dries clear or mod poge and then rub off the paper (after it has dried very well)

If your printer ink isn't waterproof (which most aren't) it won't work, but will smear.

Ok I am not at all helpful on this one. No crafty insight. Just wanted to say WOW. awesome ideas from all of you. I may very well "borrow" them someday soon:)
