Wanna see some Christmas decorations?
 
Back home, where my parents live, the county has a "Christmas Home Tour" every 2 years. The community nominates people's homes and then 2 or 3 are selected to decorate their homes for Christmas and then have the community tour them. This year, my parent's house was selected! Mom began decorating back in October and just finished Friday night- the tour was yesterday. She ended up with 63 trees in the house- at least half were 4ft or taller!

I took lots of pictures and decided to share them with YT! :D
Most of the pictures have captions underneath so hopefully it explains what you're looking at! Enjoy!! :xmastree1:

Wow! Your mom did a wonderful job decorating and having everything ready for the tour, is anyone helping her to put all those decorations away?
Best of all, every corner,every decoration, every piece of furniture has a meaning, you and your family are very lucky to have all those priceless memories.

What gorgeous decorations. It really feels like Christmas now. Do they give out prizes for the best decorated? Tell her she deserves a break now.

that is so cool and all the work that your mom had to do. it looked great. oh and the antique silver christmas trees brought back memories from my childhood......my grandparents used to have one of those....:) i really enjoyed looking at your pictures thanks for sharing....:D

My older sister lives closer to home so I would imagine that her and her kids will help out quite a bit. Dad put alot of work into the house..not really decorating but doing all of the other projects mom came up with during the process (hang this, fix that:rolleyes:) I would guess that she'll take down a few of the things to make the house more liveable but then leave the majority of it up for awhile. It's taken so long to decorate it, she might as well enjoy it for a while! Our house is full of memories and really just a hodge-podge of stuff but everything has meaning or as been passed down from somebody.

Thank you for your kind words! She was so relieved last night when it was all over. It's been a very exhausting couple of months. No, they don't give out awards- The whole event is a money maker for a ladies group.

The silver trees were something that she found in an antique shop and just had to have. Both mom and dad remember having one as kids.

WOW! I love all the trees! I bet she is glad to take a breather. And I love the silver trees too!!

Looks like your family never parted with a thing all their lives. :D You mom did an amazing job and I'll bet she could use a week in bed. :p Thank you for sharing the house with us. I'm totally amazed!

Thank you! LOL As long as you give her a few days to rest, she'd probably be willing to decorate some more. I'm most like her in this regard, we both live to be creative!:D

There definetly were ALOT of trees. I think every room had at least 3!

:DNope, we come from a long line of pack rats! I love it though, I think it's great to be surrounded in so much of my heritage.

Holy Cow!....Your mom must have had a ball!......She did a great job!...

It looks like she lives in one of those older homes that I just love!!.....I used to live in one like that and it was built in the early 1900's and it had those wide baseboards and that beautiful oak wood in the doorway with the pillars and don't forget all those real oak floors!..... They sure don't make homes like that anymore and I sure miss mine.

You are correct, the house was built in 1902. I'd much rather live in a beautiful older home than a brand new one. They just have so much more character!
