iPhone vs. Blackberry Storm, Opinions??? Does anyone have the iPhone or new Blackberry storm? I was wondering which one was better. I am currently on Verizon and love the service but their phones are terrible! I had high hopes for the BB storm but I went to verizon today and played around with it for awhile and was really disappointed. I've heard great things about the iPhone but terrible things about AT&T's coverage. So I'm kind of stuck on what I should do. |
I just got the BB Storm and I love it. There is a real learning curve to using a touch screen. I will admit that RIM released it before all the bugs were worked out, but OS updates are beginning to come out. It all depends on what you want to use it for and how much you want to pay. For me, I need the email access that the BB affords. It also plays video and MP3s. It costs less than the I phone and the monthly service plan costs less as well. I suggest waiting a month or two to get the Storm. Here is a great article that compares the two side by side. Storm Rumbles Across iPhone Plains | NetworkWorld.com Community |
I LOVE my Blackberry, but it's the Curve, not the Storm. My friend works for Verizon and he said he wont sell me the Storm until they make it better, because I won't like it. I have several friends with the Iphone, and they have had TONS of problems with them. I think Verizon is the best service, and I really love my Blackberry. No one has AT&T around here cuz the service is terrible. I am curious to hear what others have to say. |
That video may be of use to you. :) The guy's job is to advertise the items for companies - this is a totally unbiased review and demonstration with the iPhone and BBS right next to each other. It's very informative and you might enjoy it! :) |

One thing I really liked was how the touch screen worked so that you felt like you were clicking a real key. |
I am in NY and ATT is AWESOME!!!! No problems at all, terrific service  I just got the iPhone and I like it, but I still have to get used to it and figure things out....I don't think it takes videos and I don't think I can get pics via text (in or out) - I do think that I can email for that though ;) I have to admit though, that this type of 'touch screen' may not be for everyone and it is very, very sensitive. Oh and the battery life goes fast when using the internet, email and utube, etc...Otherwise, I do think it's neat and I am looking forward to learning more uses and use the iPod feature too! My hubby just got a BB - ATT (I think its a pearl or curve - not the touch screen kind) and he LOVES it!!!! I think it can do way, way more than my iPhone. |

iphone rocks!!! |
I really like my iphone a lot! It's strange how coverage is so different in each state! AT&T is the only thing that works well around here, that is why we switched from sprint a month ago. My boyfriend has a BB and dosent like to mess with my phone, but that is fine with me! I feel like I can do anything with my iphone. If you get one you wont be sorry! |
Thank you for that video MeganS! That was very interesting!!! And thanks Gracie2006 for telling me about your experience. One of my fears was that I would get it and hate it so its great to hear how much you're enjoying it! I really don't want to go onto AT&T and risk not having my phone get a signal when I really need it so I think that I might wait and see if they fix the bugs on the Storm. When I was at Verizon today a salesman told me that new Storms were not going to ship out until after Dec.15 and there are rumors that the delay is so that they can fix some of the current bugs. As long as they can fix the problem with the screen's orientation, I think I might have to go with the Storm. But, the iPhone is soooo much fun! |
I had Cingular back when I was around 16/17. It sucked! My calls would always drop and my phones would always randomly shut off. I hated it! However, now I have it and I love it. We also live in the boonies. I was surprised at how good my service is considering where we live. I'm talking like... my phone number is registered to a different city that is 1 hour away (where my mom lives). They don't even register numbers up here where I live because the town is so small. Yet, I still have wonderful service as if there is a tower nearby. I don't think AT&T is the BEST but I think it has gotten better than how it used to be. Oh and I have a BlackBerry & I love it although I really want the Curve. |
I have a blackberry w/ Verizon and love it. I have had Verizon for like 11 yrs and never ever had a problem with there phones or service. I have heard alot of bad things about the Iphone and AT&T service. |
We have had ATT for years now without any problems..I have the iphone and love it..it took a while to learn how to use it but I would never go back! I tried out the Storm just to see what it was like and it seemed confusing with the whole screen pushing down like that and it was really hard to text..just my opinion! |
i have the storm & i love it!! it was really slow though when i first got it but i updated my OS from .65 to .75 and its much better and faster now =) crackberry.com<3 |
