pekingese my other thread was closed.. so I thought I would answer your questions on here. I decided to name her Foxy Cleopatra! When my aunt brought her down here.. she said the lady had papers on her and she was a pomeranian.. I looked at this girl.. and thought it was suspicious cause she looked more like a pekingese. I'm a yorkie girl.. I don't like pekingese.. but when I saw her walking.. I spent the rest of the night crying.. because I felt so sorry for her. She walks just like a seal. It doesn't seem to bother her at all.. she runs and plays.. just sometimes she has to flop down or her legs get twisted or something. I do have a problem with her agression though. She is fine with my dogs.. plays with them and stuff, but when I put down food, she tries to tear them up if they get near her. (any tips on this?) |
She must have had to fight for her share of the food from her littermates it sounds like. I would feed her by herself and feed the others separately. My trainer also tol dme to feed the alpha dog first. Is she alpha by any chance? |
Uhm.. I don't know.. I haven't had her long enough to tell.. and the past couple of days I have just kept them put up and seperated in case she had parvo. I would say my smallest yorkie is alpha cause she humps them when they get out of line lol. |
What does the smallest do when Foxy goes after her about the food? Does she retreat or hold her ground and fight back? |
yeah she fights her back... it only happened once.. then I seperated them every since. |
i saw your baby on the other thread that got closed down and boy is she a cutie :D my mom had 2 and i had one before, they are adorable dogs very loyal too  but i did notice they can get very territorial. so i think you just need to train her and get her more socialized, like socal said feed her seperatley until she gets usto her new siblings. give her time i'm sure she'll warm up. congrats and i just wanted to applaud you :bravo: for taking in this baby, it takes a big hearted animal lover to take in a baby with her condition. and you sound like you would do anything to help her. congrats :D |

I agree with keeping her separate. Gwen only has three legs, and she'll only eat by Skippy my other Yorkie. There's no way I could put her food down when the big guys are out, or she goes into attact mode. |

1 Attachment(s) Here's her picture. She got very upset this morning. I don't have a fenced in yard.. so I have to take each one out one at a time.. so I took my yorkies out, so I could seperate them from her while I gave her medicine and water and then take her out.. she started whining and barking and throwing a fit. It surprised me. |
She's looks like a little sweetheart. I hope everything works out good for you and her. |
Shes a cutie! |
She is so cute I just want to smoosh her face and kiss it. |
We took Foxy to be spayed today and have her x-rays on her legs. The vet confirmed that she doesn't seem to have any pain from her legs. She said that the pain that the surgery would cause for Foxy wouldn't be worth it, and theres a chance it wouldn't even work... so she just recommended we give her joint supplements for fluids or something. |

That's great that the vet was that honest with you. I'm glad she's not in any paid. She sure is a cutie. When I was a kid we use to raise Peks. I haven't had one since I was a teenager. Now I have yorkies. Good Luck. |
