Nassau County police say the 34-year-old worker was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead at about 6 a.m., an hour after the store opened. Police also say a 28-year-old pregnant woman was taken to a hospital for observation. Wal-Mart Stores Inc., in Bentonville, Ark., would not confirm the reports of a stampede during the day-after-Thanksgiving bargain hunting, but said a "medical emergency" caused them to close the store. I read this earlier today. It really takes the fun out of black friday shopping! I love getting up with my mom and aunt and going early to stores, but when people push and shove it makes it not fun. Poor guy. |

Yes, I also think it is so sad...... I agree that the people shown on the video that are involved in this assault/murder should be charged. There is no reason to act like idiots.... it is suppose to be a fun shopping day tradition. I say "THROW THE BOOK AT THEM"!!!! |

My boss told me that at work yesterday just before it got all over the news. I was totally shocked. It's ridiculous. Disgusting. This only happened because of greedy people who put what they want before another person's LIFE. Shame on anyone who saw this man and didn't stop to help him. It's disgusting. AND it was at Wal*Mart. Wal*Mart already has the lowest prices around. It's just awful. People killing an innocent man for $5 off some product. :( :mad: |
Oh, I know.. this just saddens me so much... here it's supposed to be the Holidays a time for sharing. HA. I avoid the Friday after Thanksgiving sales & stores like the plague. My husband and I make a point to stay home that day, and for good reason. We also do 99% of our shopping online now too, for the past 5 years at least. We're the relaxed type, and the anger & anxiety that we sense in stores just doesn't feel too festive. :( |
