Ok, so a couple of weeks ago, I met a guy and thought he was cute. So we exchanged numbers and started talking a lot on the phone. We were supposed to go out tomorrow for our first date. So he knew I have Coco and I treat her like a child. Tonight he said it just hit him how "INTO MY DOG" I am and that he doesn't want to compete. So he changed his mind about tomorrow :mad: What a jerk!!! Anyways, I had told him from the beginning that she's part of the package, you date me, you gotta love Coco. He's just TODAY admitted that he doesn't like anmals AT ALL, "NO MATTER HOW CUTE THEY ARE". I just can't believe people still break dates because someone loves their dog. Sorry, I'm good though, I didn't think it would work out anyway, I guess I'm just shocked. Out of all the things I've heard from people about broken dates, I think this one might take the dog bone..hehe

His loss Noebella! And you were right from the start to be upfront with him about CoCo. My boyfriend actually stopped dating someone a couple of years ago because after a few weeks she said that she had a problem with his dog sleeping on the bed with him! I dont see how people can have the nerve. He had his dog for 5+ years and this girl wanted him to change things for her after a few weeks. It is a package deal, love you, love your dog!

I know, the nerve!!! We'd been talking on the phone for 2 weeks and he knew how much Coco means to me. Just 10 minutes before he decided to cancel the date, he was telling me how much he liked me and how excited he was for tomorrow. Just weird.

ugh, glad you got rid of that one quick. He's probably waiting for you to put CoCo on the side and tell him how wonderful he is, etc. Ego. Thats all I gotta say!

It happened to me , the girl asked me to choose between my Yorkies and her .
I told her that is was a very easy choice . I chose my Yorkies .

Good for you - I can't believe someone would ask you to CHOOSE - and Noebella - You go girl - there are TONS of guys that love their dogs out there and would appreciate you and Coco - If they really care about YOU - they'll love Coco too - Keep looking and good luck !

I'm sorry if this comes across the wrong way, but I think he is probably just using CoCo as an excuse for something else that makes him not want to go out w/ you. It just sounds like it to me.

That's what I was thinking too, but it's weird because I was the one holding back on our conversations and he was telling me how much he liked me. I don't know maybe he got intimidated by my education and career and used Coco. But it just seemed weird because everything was great, until the last 15 minutes of our conversation. It suddenly went sour. It's ok though, it's not like we were dating. We had just talked on the phone but it pisses me off that just last night having a dog became an issue.

It probably just made him feel more manly instead of saying that he is intimidated by your career or education, like you said.

Every guy I've dated has MELTED when Stewie kisses them upon their first meeting.

He's out there and he will love CoCo, too.

The hell with him I say. If he cant deal with the fact that you are into your dog then he needs to hit the bricks. My opinion. Hes lucky he didn't meet me. Unlike you only having one dog, I have 3 that I am into. LOL

Come to WI, Ryan has a few single hot friends that love dogs. In fact one of them has a yorkie-poo. :)

This was one of the main problems with my ex, he was always jealous of the time and affection that I gave my girls...sorry, but my girls are more important to me than any guy!!! If you don't love my girls than there is no chance in loving me....

This was his loss...he loss the chance with a great girl and a wonderful little yorkie....oh well, there are more guys out there!!!

I was wondering about this......dating and Maximus...lol, he takes up so much of my time and I am not about to go out a couple of nights a week and leave him home (if I ever break up with my bf)...I think I will have to be celibate until I find a man as much in love with his "baby" as I am with mine...becaue Maximus is the most important man in my life...and Nobella I think Coco is the #1 in your as well...so screw him and go find the man of OUR dreams who LOVES yorkies...lol

SCREW THEM ALL I SAY!!! Well at least the not so nice ones that don't love your babies. I had found a couple of traits in him that I didn't like so I'm kind of glad he gave me an excuse to walk away. He was very conceided but I just thought maybe he was nervous on the phone, but it was a complete turn off. He would say stuff like "Well You know I bring a lot to the table, good looks, nice body, good career..." Now THAT was annoying. So it's ok, Time to move in with Kelly and find my man in WI...hehe..Coco would've barked at him anyway (even though she doesn't bark)
