If anyone finds some good deals OR has already gotten some good deals....I thought it would be fun to see/hear about it...so post it here! :)

I didn't realize that places post their ads this far in advance. I've never went shopping on Black Friday. I'd really like to find a new flat screen tv for the bedroom or a larger computer monitor for my fiance so maybe I will have to go shopping this year.

My mom always tells a story about how when she was pregnant with me, she stood in line for hours before a store opened just to get a cabbage patch doll for me. She said that they had a very limited quantity and passed out numbers to the people in line and then called numbers to see who got one. I guess a few fights even broke out over it!:eek:

I have only been once or twice....nowadays, I enjoy sleeping in...my MIL still calls like at 4am that morning (every year) just to make sure I don't want to go. She will call me throughout the day when she finds something good....

I adore black friday and I'm like Jenn's mil...I am up and at 'em at 4 in the morning.

If you register on gottadeal.com....they will send you an email whenever a black friday ad is posted. Some of these have been up since October.

Go to Black Friday Ads - The Official Black Friday 2008 Website to see most all of the stores. Black Friday is my favorite holiday, lol.

Your best bet would be to look at the adds and see who has what. See what time the stores you want to hit open too. Our Kohls is also by our Sams club, We wanted to go to both stores and they opened at different times, thank goodness :rolleyes: Kohls Employs came out and told people were the "hot" Items would be located at, how nice was that?? If you needed to know were something was located you could ask and they told you the lay out! We were able to get in and out of Kohls and be at Sam's Club before they opened. Our Sam's Club was well orginized and it was not a mad house,They even let us stand in the cart area were we were out of the cold wind. Again they came out and told people were the Items would be located in the store, for the TV's they were already loaded on a cart for you and they passed out tickets for them. Heck they even have a breakfast for you LOL! Also, for the toy's, If they are hard to find toy's the store will say ( only 100 per store) So keep that in mind. Wallmart, Kmart, and KBtoy's or Toy's R Us alway's have great deals on the toy's! Again look at the adds and see who has what you want.

I love Black Friday!! At my moms for thanksgiving, my sister and I go over the stores adds and plan were we want to go to.Last year was my husband s first time going with me.He thought we were NUTS!! I cant sleep at all due to the excitement;) So we head out and get a coffee or hot cocoa,and then go get in line at our designated store, we are alway's one of the first people out in line LOL.

I usually plot strategy. ;) I would browse the ads and find what I wanted...from there I decided what I wanted MOST...there was my first store.

You'll have it easy since it's clothes....browse the ads for the best deals. Toddler toys are easy too.

Most of the early bird deals end by 12....so to get the best prices...go EARLY.

Last year I was in Hawaii on black friday....I could see the mall from our condo...you don't know how badly I wanted to make a trip over there. Shoot because of the time difference...I was even UP before dawn...just like home.

I dont do it anymore BUT I have in the past. Me and my SIL would also plot out our path. We would make my Mom guard the basket. We used walkie talkies and even been known to throw something in the midst of a crown when people are grabbing.

Gosh the year of the Furby was the WORSE!

My strategy is to find everything I want, and find the stores that do price matching. I generally hit the store that does price matching (and has most of what I want) first, and get everything at that store that I can, and bring the ads so they can charge the same. Then I hit the stores that I want to go to next on the list.
This only works well if you are buying a lot of kitchen stuff or toys, or something they generally care the same of all most all department stores.
