L@@K what I got!!!!! 1 Attachment(s) I always said that as soon as my husband and I got divorced, I was going to get a new tattoo. So, I did :D This picture was taken RIGHT after it was finished!!! Here is the meaning behind it. It is a butterfly...and the coloring is supposed to resemble that of a "Jade Butterfly" _____________________________________ The Butterfly is a symbol of change or transformation, joy and love. Carved in jade, this symbol will promote spiritual awareness, and love. Butterfly is a powerful symbol in myth and religion. For Early Christians, it represented the soul itself. In China it symbolized conjugal bliss and joy. American Indians call upon the butterfly for guidance in change, color, and happiness. Symbol of successful love A butterfly carved from jade holds a special romantic significance. Ancient Chinese legend tells of a youth who wandered into the garden of a wealthy mandarin in pursuit of a multi-colored butterfly. Instead of being punished for trespassing, his visit led to marriage with the mandarin's daughter. Today, a jade butterfly symbolizes successful love. _____________________________________ kinda cool, don't you think???? |
Looks great. I have a rosary wrapped around my foot. Along with a few other things in different places. Is this your first? I have 6 in total. Fairly small ones though. I have butterflies on my lower stomach, chinese kanji for Faith on my left wrist, a heart and my Fiance's name in Arabic on the other wrist, my leo zodiac on back of my neck, and sons initials on my upper back. Oh and one on my foot. :) My Fiance actually gave me a gift certificate to the tatoo shop and I can't think of anything to get. I initially wanted to get a quarter sleeve but decided against that because I am not sure what career path I am going to take and I don't want it to be something I regret. I then thought about something on my rib cage but can't decide. Anywho, the tattoo looks great. :) Glad you are happy with it. :D |
I like it and I like the story of the meaning behind it. It is so cool that it symbolizes a new beginning in your life. My best wishes to you. |
The butterfly looks good and I like it having a meaning, too. Did you see the thread awhile back, someone had tiny little paw prints tatooed across the top of her foot.. Looked good for her, but my feet are so ugly, I sure don't need attention draw to them, lol !! |
Oh that looks PAINFUL! Pretty though! Did it hurt? I would have been crying in pain! I'd like to get a SMALL tattoo of a cross somewhere on my body, but I'm too chicken. |
ooo looks like it hurts! I could never get a tatoo but IF i did i would want it to have deep meaning like yours does. it is BEAUTIFUL! |

1 Attachment(s) I got a butterfly on my foot about 5 years ago. I have 6 total, each having a meaning. Mine on my foot didn't hurt. Neither did the one on the back of my neck. You would be surprised about ones not hurting that you think would. Here is a pic of my tat on my foot, pay no attention to the foot-UGLY!! LOL |
Oh Mandee..owwwie |
wow Mandee it's really pretty...but I'm with Lisa..OW! |
I have a tat of my daughters name (Ashlee) with roses on the side of my foot. I have to be honest and tell you it hurt like you know what. My daughter and step daughter just got tats on their foot the other day of a Lilly and sisters in Italian on the top of their foot. They both have several tats and say this one hurt the most. My Ashlee has a sleeve ( I dont care for it) and says it didn't hurt nearly as bad. Yours is very pretty and I love the meaning behind it. |
I like it very much! :) |
