It's me!:p Y'all might remember I had a hair color freak out about a month ago. Well it had faded quite a bit and I had root growth. I have an appointment next week with my hairdresser but got impatient and colored it MYSELF!:eek: I have not been that brave since my early 20's. I also cut bangs.:D My hairdresser is going to have a nervous breakdown when he sees me and he's got some evening out to do too:p.

Anyway I was taking some pics of Sugar and me trying to get a new avatar picture so I thought I'd post a few.

Wow, it looks great!! I like the bangs and the color. They are very flattering.

Thanks!:) I'm sure my hairdresser won't agree but I think it's fun. The bangs do a good job of hiding the lines on my forehead so that makes me happy.:p

I'm a hairstylist and i think it looks really good. I don't ever fuss at my clients for cutting on their own hair. It's their hair and if they mess it up it's their loss. But most of the time they do a pretty good job. I know how hard it is to make time to get a haircut, so i don't hold it against them. And you want to know something else I tell people.....I probably shouldn't but I tell them if they find a color they like and it works for their hair..they should do it themselves. I know haircolor is expensive but your paying for that stylist to mix the right formula and she/he has to fix it if you don't like the color. But if you can find some in the store.......Go for it.........I like your hair.;)

Yay- a compliment from a pro!:D Thank you. I've had some bad color disasters in my youth so I have stayed away from home color. The last time I had my hair colored I went darker and my next appointment was for a single process color so I figured I could handle this. I think I'll keep coloring it myself until I decide to go lighter again. My bangs need some work but I'm leaving that for my hairdresser- I've cut as much as I dare to.

I like it Nikki. When you first had it darkened I was unsure because I was so used to seeing your avatar picture where it was lighter. I think it looks really cute with your hair cut. I also dye my own but next time I think I am going to go a little darker so I am going to have my hair stylist do it

I had a hair dying disaster this time last year. I have really dark brown hair naturally and I somehow ended up dying it bleach blonde... I was supposed to have caramel highlights... my friend was doing it and it was one of those cap things and she poked through every hole on the cap... I was bleached blonde on top and dark brown at the bottom. She told me to wait two weeks before I color it again, but I could take it and dyed it a dark reddish brown the next day. I finally found a color that matched my natural hair almost perfectly, so I let it grow out and now all the color is cut out of my hair... I am not dying my hair until it turns grey!!!

My Husband and I highlighed My Daughters hair with the carmel highlighter also and in places it turned really blond also. It didnt look so bad on her because her hair is naturally dark blond but If she wants to have it done again I am going to take her to a stylist

I thought I was the only crazy one here, but as I type, I have hair color on that I bought from Walgreens. I don't know what kind of color my hairdresser uses, but I had highlights that I wanted to cover because of fall and wanted a dark color. She colored my hair twice in two months because the color has fade so fast that looks like she didn't even do anything!! I don't mind paying good money for a job well done, but she has not done a good job lately, so I decided to do it myself.
BTW Nikki, your hair looks very nice! I think you look better with dark hair and bangs.;)

Thank you sweetie!:D No, I'm a loyal girl and am sticking by my real hairdresser. The last time wasn't his fault. It was what I asked for it just took me by surprise.

LOL, hair disasters are so awful aren't they? My worst one was when I was 16- I used a color stripper then used blond color. It turned turquoise.:eek: Not a good look.:p

Thanks- let us know how yours turns out. I just used the temporary Loving Care this time but I'm going to use semi permanent once it washes out. What are you using?

I bet it is pretty! I think dark hair and blue eyes is such a pretty look. I was alot more nervous doing My Daughters hair shes only 8 but it turned out pretty good. She just doesnt like having her hair pulled through the little holes. Her hair is super straight naturally and when she gets old enough I am going to get her hair permed. It is so straight it will probably be a loose perm.

I wish I could get a loose perm to the point where it's mainly just wavy, but my hair holds curl VERY well.
