Christmas Decorating? When do you start? :) Usually I start the day after Thanksgiving, but I hate taking things down so soon -- so I've started mixing in winter/Christmas decorations with my fall decor. I am SO excited, I love changing my stuff with the seasons! I'd love to see pics of everyone's decorations too if you have them :) |
I want to put up my Christmas tree NOWWWWWWWWWWWWWW :( :p |
i wait until after thanksgiving to put up the xmas stuff. i took down my halloween stuff today and just left up the fall decor. i like to enjoy the holidays without pushing too far ahead. |

I found a great deal on this Martha Stewart tree at this overstock store, but it was too tall for our house, boo! |
Great idea Yorkiegirl83. A subtle way of bringing in Christmas. |
:p Just do like I do .... Patrick & I were in Michael's and there was a gorgeous "Father Christmas" and I said "did you hear that?" ... Patrick said "what?". I just picked up the statue and held it up to my ear and said "OK, I think that's a great idea"! Patrick looked puzzled ... I said "he said he wants to live at our house and I said it was OK"!! Within the hour he was in our living room and I will just begin adding Christmas stuff until Patrick decorates our gorgeous tree!!! Yep! He's the Christmas tree person at our house ... I don't have the patience! I will make pictures ... he has the most beautiful, meaningful tree! He has ornaments that we have collected and they are so carefully placed ... it looks like magic! Me?? I do the rest of the house but we will have everything done well before December and I will have to threaten his life to get the tree down by the end of January!! :) And ... it's all for Toto!! We are about 1700 miles from our children!! ;) |
You are going to laugh, but we are actually decorating my grandma's christmas tree next Saturday! Its always a big to-do! :) |
LOL I decorated a tree outside today!!!!! :p |
I put my stuff out after Thanksgiving. I like decorating for Halloween and fall. So I wwill be taking my Halloween stuff down and JUst have fall untill Thanksgiving |
Okay someone in my neighborhood started lighting christmas lights in their bushes at the beginning of october... I think that's pushing it if you ask me... |
I start decorating now! LOL! I have a Christmas party at my house the 1st weekend of December every year, and I have 3 trees to put up this year! So it will take me a whole month to just get that all together! And ready in time for my party! |
I haven't decided yet. Thanksgiving is late this year and, as always, I'll be out of town the week before and after Christmas so I may start a little earlier so I have time to enjoy it. I did buy some bubble lights and ornaments today! :p So much fun! |

I'll probably start decorating around the second week of november, just so I can enjoy my holiday decor....and my real tree will probably go up right around thanksgiving. :) |
I want my Christmas tree up now too. I love Christmas and I have too many decorations. I still have my Halloween stuff up because I'm lazy & don't feel like carrying it back upstairs since it seems like I just put it up . |
I am excited to decorate this year. We were only in our house a month before Christmas last year and we were too busy getting settled in. So this will be the 1st year that I get to decorate in my new home. We had a Halloween party last week and we went all out on decorating our house. It was so much fun! |
The day after Thanksgiving. Only because my husband say's "let's get passed this holiday, before we start thinking of another":( I LOOOOOVE Christmas. |
I may be weird or whatever, but this is what I think about christmas... Christmas is a religious holiday and I don't think there should be anything christmasy until december. I think putting things out (in stores and wherever) earlier makes people forget the true meaning of christmas. Christmas has been very commercialized and now it's not about the belief, but about buying gifts and having trees and lights... I dunno... just my way of thinking.... |
I wait until the day after Thanksgiving. |
We usually wait until the day after Thanksgiving, but this year we're starting next weekend. :D |
I would put up my tree now if I wouldn't get made fun of! LOL I LOVE putting up christmas decorations and making my house all festive for Christmas. I have no other real holiday decorations, just christmas. They are sooo fun and colorful! :) |
I actually put up one of our smaller Christmas trees in our den yesterday. I am going to wait a couple of weeks before I put up our big tree. I love Christmas and I like getting a head start. Plus, we have a new house this year so I am very excited to be decorating!! |
I think it's so cool that many of you start decorating around this time! I was feeling alone with that, haha! My mom even mentioned to me, hmmm -- I thought "we" always do that right after Thanksgiving... and I kind of went "no, *you* always decorate after Thanksgiving, :-p". AshleyV - I can respect your opinion, but I don't think of just the commercialized aspect of Christmas. I just love changing my home with the seasons and I do get excited about it. At our house we remember and value the real reason for the Holidays, but I don't see why I shouldn't have a little excitement in making my home feel warm and cozy :). BetteAnne, I think that is so cute LOL! I can see myself doing something like that too :). There are some people in my town that have the huge set ups for Christmas starting outside their home now. I personally would wait a little bit for that, but I can understand why they are starting. They have SO much to put up and who knows how long it will be decent weather. |
