Voting Annoyance! Today is my day to be annoyed. My registration never went through changing my address and now I'm stuck. When I called last week asking where my card was, they told me I can't vote at the polls because my reigstration wasn't received in time - I sent it in several months ago when I had trouble voting in a local election, they just didn't get it processed in time! :thumbdown so now since my registration has my old address on it and the application has a new address but because I don't have my card yet - I can't vote! So now I can only vote if I go to the City Clerk's office and vote early - which means standing in line outside for hours.:( I'm glad it's not cold outside this weekend - we're having a spurt of 50s! And I'm taking my walker with the seat on it cause I know I can't stand for more than a few minutes. So, OK that's enough now. I feel better having gotten that off my chest. :) |
Sorry you're having those issues...my SIL went 2 days ago to the BOE to cast an absentee and she waited in line for 1 1/2 hours...! |
I admire you that even through all this STUFF and crap you will still perservere and go vote! It's everyone's responsibility!!!! KUDDOS! :) |
So sorry you're having problems. I know I haven't voted since Reagan, this year, I had to vote..I said my vote wouldn't even count, but, if everyone felt that way, then guess no one would get any votes.. |
I am sorry about your voting problems. I will just be glad when this election is done |
Good for you Sorry you had issues....but, I am grateful for your persistance. At least you are a living breathing voter...LOL....and not voting from the grave.... |
It's over but will it be counted? Well, this was one experience I never want to repeat. I waited in line for 3 hours and the result was that they would not let me vote because my registration was in limbo. Even when I showed them my paycheck, my bank statement and my electricity bill all with my current address, they would not let me vote. I told them what the clerk said on the phone but they were unmoved. :( Get this - they did let me take an absentee ballot which I completed and returned to them and they accepted. Can you believe it? They said they don't know if it will be accepted or not when it is time to count the absentee ballots, but they did take it. I am quite upset about this and my governor, state congressman, senator, mayor, and you can bet the clerk of courts are all getting lovely letters from me. I will not be spraying perfume on them. A little eau de skunk is more like it!   |
That stinks!! My husband and I went and did the early voting and the computers were down so we had to wait in line for 45 minutes, But at least it's done and I too cannot wait for this election to be over. |
