I agree. I love the coach. Joe Maddon seems like such a patient, nice guy. Perfect for that young team. I'd have been really scared to play for the Rays under Pinella.

Can you believe I'm actually a Red Sox fan and am rooting for the Rays? I'm not sure how die hard a fan you are, but in case you're a long time fan, this is how deep my hatred for the Phillies runs.....I HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAATE. Period. They broke my heart when the took Dale Murphy from my precious Braves when I was a kid AND then squashed it again when they beat my guys in the '93 NLCS. I'm not ashamed to admit they made me cry.

So the Rays better win tonight!!!!!! :cheer: I dunno how the young guys would handle going down 2-0 in the series while at home in Tampa, you know?

Of course I am wanting Tampa to win, was born and raised here.

Yes, so many are getting mohawks, even a newsperson. One little boy got suppended from school because of his hair cut. They dye the top blue.

I am for the Tampa Bay Rays all the way. I dislike the Phillies a lot. I started the Post Season for the Chicago Cubs, the LA Dodgers, the Boston Red Sox...all went down in defeat. Now I am for the Rays. Just don't tell them how bad my record has been to pick a winner. Seriously, I like to see the underdog...the young team do well. It seems as if Tampa plays as a team and not for showcasing individual players. I dislike the Phillies because it seems that my beloved Atlanta Braves could never beat them. It got to the point of discouragement. GO TAMPA BAY RAYS!!!!!!!

I completely agree with every word in your post, right down to the teams I rooted for this year. Great minds -- and Braves fans -- think alike :D Go Tampa! I hope the rain doesn't cause trouble up in Philly tonight :xfingers:

I hope the Phillies lose just so I can sleep at night (I live in Philadelphia)! :) It'd be nice to not hear fireworks, horns honking, and screaming after a game.

What about the Ray's cowbells. I have heard of people not going to the game because of them. They have a separate stadium with a giant TV.

Yay! A baseball thread! I love the fact that the Rays made it to the World Series. It shows that a young and talented team can win, not just the teams that spend outrageous money.

But I am a National League girl all the way! I hope the Phillies win, but won't be disappointed if the Rays do.

I have noticed a lot of the players wearing ear plugs. I've heard it is REALLY loud.

I'm a National League girl too but I don't like the Phillies so I'm so hoping TB can pull this off and go all the way.

How did I ever miss this thread? I LOVE THE PHILS!! I was glued to the TV last night screaming "C'mon boys!" The Phils are a great bunch of guys that work so well together. YAY PHILS!!

I wondered about that myself. :) Just wanted to add that both teams are great (I would have wanted the Rays to win if they played anyone else, but seeing as how I was born and raised in Philly!!) and they were well-matched. It was a good series!
