Take your dog anywhere What do y'all think of this website? I am really tempted to go for it so I can take my babies anywhere with me but it seems an awfully lot like cheating. Service Dog Certification and Materials |
that is a great website... if i had the $356 I would totally go with it |
Fyi, that is just a site creating documents for you - there is nothing official about it. You can use this one for the same thing, for a LOT less $$$ (about $40): Service Animal Registry of America SARA |
mmm I don't know. It seems cheating. I know how you feel, I too would want to bring Bengi everywhere I do (although he's a barker), but service dogs have a very special purpose, and I don't think it's right to take advantage of that. If all people would start doing the certification just to bring their does to restaurants and the movies, the might start turning them away, and maybe somebody that really needs the dog will be banned. I don't know, others might think differently... but I think some people really really need their dogs with them. Mine... although I really miss him, can stay at home. |

I agree with you guys. |

+1  Although it would be great to be able to take our babies everwhere, it just doesn't seem right to take advantage of it. |
People with service dogs still have hard times being accepted. Tucker is a service dog, though we rarely bring him places with us. But a blind friend of ours has a guide dog and even SHE is still asked to leave (though she never does) because there are many people who just don't understand the need some people have for service dogs. I worry that people who sign up for things like this just so they can always have their dogs with them are, in the long run, going to make it harder for people who actually NEED to have service dogs. JMO. :) |

I think that the right to take a service dog anywhere should be reserved for those people who actually NEED service animals. I don't think it's something that should be taken advantage of by someone just because they want to take their dog everywhere they go. |

I would like to do this solely to be able to fly Lily on airplane!! It cost me $125.00 one way and she didn't make a sound under the seat!! I will be going back and forth from WV to AZ alot and if I could fly her free it would help a bunch!! I was even thinking about changing her carrier and trying to take her on w/out paying next time and see what happens?? Worst they could do would be make me get off the plane?? If she barked I could see paying but she didn't make a sound and nobody even knew she was on there!! I am kinda afraid to try to take her though w/out paying??? I wanted to do everything right the first time I flew w/her in case she didn't do well but she did really good. Going to go again middle of November so I am open for suggestions!! THANKS!! |

I agree service dogs should be used by ppl who need them and i would feel like im cheating if i did that with one of my dogs. And besides i already take them almost everywhere, the only place they're not allowed is in restaurants and that's fair cause i can eat with them at the outside tables:) |

After I paid for her they didn't check anything for her again through security or anything. I had her out of her bag and just put her bag through the security machine and when I got on the plane nobody checked anything at all?? I will be too scared to try taking her w/out paying but I just wish I could do it because it is such a waste of money to let her sit under my seat like a bag I think!! |
jet blue did the same thing to me i only paid one way and they never checked and when i came back they didnt check for her ticket and let me in ? |
It has been a while but I wasn't charged a penny for flying Cassie to Florida with me. As long as the carrier was airline approved and fit under the seat in front of me they were fine with it. They may charge now though. I flew AirTran. |
