Don't know how much longer I can last I dearly love all my babies, all 5 of them; but, I am on the verge of cronic fatigue because I'm getting so little sleep. I know its our fault, DH and I have them all in bed with us, but it's me they want to snuggle up to. 2 of them sleep on my pillow over/on my head and the other 3 are under the cover at my back & legs. DH has sleep apena, so I guess his sleep contraption keeps them from snuggling to him. Anyway, I'm only getting 3 - 5 hrs of sleep at night, and that's with several wake-ups. We live in the country, so all of the night sounds wake them up. One barks, then all 5 of them are barking. I'm really open for suggestions; I'm soooo tired. And with all of this going on, I still check the paper & craigslist every day! |
i would just put them on a bed in the floor. And if they can jump on the bed, i wud suggest getting a wall thingy. (cant think of the name right now) they will cry at first but wshould get used to it soon enough. y r u always looking on newspapers/craiglist? |

aaawwww I do know what you are going through because all 3 of my babies sleep with me. Right now we are doing okay because hubby's not around so we got the bed to ourselves but when he comes back its going to be a adjustment all over again. I would try to put some beds on your floor and see if they will sleep in them. I know this is not much help because even though my babies are up on me all night I still do not have the heart to put them on the floor. Although Gabby sleeps where ever she's in the mood to sleep in....the bed, under the bed, her crate. |
I agree. I have two and thats enough for this bed! I do however have their bed on the ground next to my bed. There are times I put them down there next to me instead of on my bed. They will adjust, especially if there all together :) |
I feel for you, really I do. If I don't sleep everyone in my path pays the price.:p This is going to be hard for you but if it were me I would get a big donut bed and put them all on the floor! Sorry I know that's hurt's but you need to sleep to function during the day. They will have each other and I'm sure curl together for comfort and in a couple nights they won't care one way or the other. You will have your bed back and a good night's sleep and be ready to play with them when you wake up. You have to do what you have to do. I wouldn't hesitate. |

ohhh!!! phewww!! i though u were thinking of selling them  hahahaha |
Thanks for all the advice....you all said exactly what I expected. It's gonna be hard because they can all jump on the bed. I'll come up with something......thanks again. |
I would never get any sleep that way either! :p Our two little ones sleep in their crates with their comfy, homemade pad and bumper pads that Sonja/Pocomutt made them with a nice little cover to block out the light and they sleep like a charm! The bigger one has a whole chaise lounge to herself! I would suggest moving them off the bed onto their own beds, you have to get rest!! |

How about getting them a toddler bed? |
Hey Linda, I just posted a similar thread a few days ago because we are going through the same thing w/my three. I broke down and decided to put them in their crate at night because I knew if I tried to keep them in a bed next to my bed the barking and running around would continue and they would just be jumping into my bed anyway so I would be solving nothing! But so far so good w/the crate sleeping! I wish you luck, none of us including my children were getting much sleep! |

I know your pain! I have a 11 1/2 year old pom who has Cushing's disease and congestive heart failure. The cushing's make her starving all the time.Medicine for CHF makes her have to pee all the time and she is trained to the outside. I feed her at 10 pm, by 1 am she is waking me up with help from the yorkies and I let her out give her a snack and they go back to sleep until 3 am when they wake me up and I have to feed them all. I haven't had more than 2 hours straight sleep in over a year. I tried putting her in the othher room at night and she cried and Pixie my yorkie went nuts so I can't keep the family up too so I gave in. I really don't know what to do either but I know what you mean about sleep deprived. I seriously thought of going to a hotel one night to get some sleep LOL |
I kinda know what your'e going through. We don't have any furbabies in bed with us but every night about an hour after we go to bed our one year old daughter wakes up and won't settle til I put her in bed with us (my fault for starting it:rolleyes:) then a few hours later our two year old son wakes and screams for me:rolleyes:. I go in and he sobs "take me to daddy" so he comes too. All four of us in bed, its a bit of a squeeze so now when I put our son in our bed I take our daughter and we get in his bed:rolleyes: Then about 6.30am our son comes and gets in his single bed with me and his little sister and I'm too exhausted to start bed hopping again:rolleyes: If you have the room and the willpower try putting them in a bedroom of their own with a single bed full of teddies to cuddle up to. Good luck!!! |
