I fond this ad while browsing my local paper online. Dumb, i didnt even know we had a petland in minnesota. 50 breeds! umm screams puppy mill!

That is so sad. What these puppies have to go through. And a lot of people do not know what is going on! :(

PLEASE EVERYONE BOYCOTT PETLAND !! They buy from Hunte Corp...the largest broker in the country - Petland stores are a prime reason so many dogs are bred in Puppy Mills .....

Petland is terrible in their treatment and sale of puppies and I would LOVE to see them banned from selling live animals in their stores !! I HATE PETLAND with a passion.

NBC Dateline investigation
 

Did anybody here see the NBC Dateline investigation into pet stores and puppy mills in 1998? I just recently saw it. PETA sent me a free videotape of it. I should make copies on DVD and mail them to everyone I know. It was enlightening :lightning (although everything they said I knew was already true). But they went undercover into pet stores including Petland :thumbdown and you should see the lies they tell and how 'knowledgable' they seem to customers. It showed actual puppy mills and shed some light on how easy it is to get AKC papers for anything, even a non-exisitent dog or a :cat: cat. :shocked7q Just send in the fees. Dateline really needs to do a follow up to show that this is still happening.

Do you mean you don't have NBC? It's old, so you wouldn't see it on tv anyway.

We just had a Petland built here in Wichita. I went to go check it out to see what everyone was talking about. OMG!!! I hate that place!!! All of their puppies were in little crates w/ at least 2 in it. They had 3 yorkies & this poor little girl looked so sick! I wanted to kill someone right there after looking at her. She could barely even walk! And they wanted $1500 for her!!! But they said she came w/ a 3 year guarantee. I was like so! I asked them where they got there dogs from and they said the Hunte Corp. Then the lady was like go to their website because it tells you what a good place they are. I was like whatever! That place made me sick & they were advertising Christmas puppies & financing was available!! Are you kidding me?? Financing?? Anyways...I really hate that place now too & I'm writing letters to all the radio & tv stations here in Wichita to see if maybe one of them would do some sort of investigation on them & expose them as a puppymill! Also their freakin prices were outrageous on other stuff too! Like cat litter I buy for $7 at wal-mart was $12!! Anyways..sorry so long, just had to vent on Petland. I HATE PETLAND!!! :mad: :thumbdown

We have pet land here. Not in our town but like 25 miles from us. :thumbdown

We have a petland where I live, I buy my dogs food from there. I have her on Nutro Ultra. They seemed to know what they were talking about now I am just wondering if this food is good for Nelly. The breeder did have her on the Nutro Max and I was told that the Nutro Ultra was more nutrional for her, were they right. By the way, there was a lady that bought a puppy from Petland and it had caught the parvo virus from an infected animal that had been brought to the store to get groomed, the puppy died and they reimbursed her and told her she could not have a puppy in her house for six months due to the fact the virus could still be in the house. What I found strange is that they still have puppies at their store, this does not make since unless they have some kind of cleaner that can kill the germ, which is highly unlikely because they would sell it on the market. I would also like to add that since I have heard about how sick dogs can get just from inhaling cleaners and other things I have switched my cleaner to purely organic and I am using vinegar for my alternative cleaning was this a good idea.
