I want to send money to denise...
 
If I mail her money she won't get it till Wed. or Thru. and with her and the kids living in a motel and almost broke, I'd like to know this: Can she go to a bank, have them call me for my cc # so they can withdraw and give it to her?
I would rather not do an overnight mail if it can be helped since it's so expensive.

Sometimes Western Union is expensive it really depends. You could wire her the money to her bank account or she can purchase a Net Spend pre paid money card and you can send her the money thru Western Union and it will cost $4.99 all you need is her account number..

I'd give it a chance,with Western Union. If you use the same bank as her you can just get transfer it to her bank accoung..

I felt the same way when I read her story (wishing I could help out with a little money). We have Paypal set up for ebay items we sell. It's easy to set up to receive (and send) money. Since she has Internet Access maybe she can set up a Paypal to receive money, then it'll go right into her account . Easy. Sure they charge fee, but it is small compared to Fedx, Western union, etc.

She doesn't have any bank accounts. :( I think I'm just going to pay the extra and just overnight her the money. I am on pins and needles here worry about her. I am also praying very hard that God will help her too.

Does she have a bank account? We could just deposit it directly into her account. Oh wait that won't work she'd have to give us her acct number and I just saw someone say she didn't have an account. How does one get along these days without one???? Wow...

hmmmmm.... aside from overnighting it to her hotel I have no idea. I'd be afraid to mail, I assume that with the damage there could possible be a delay with the US Mail in that area.

Wal Mart has what is called a Money Gram. That is the best and most reasonable way to get it to her, western union is too expensive, once it is sent she can go pick it up showing her id at the closest Wal Mart to her. It must have her full name and then also you can let her know a pass word to use besides showing her drivers license. Once it is sent it is ready usually with in ten minutes to the person it is sent to.
Keeping Denise and her family in our prayers and all others down there going through the devastation caused by Ike. Hugs being sent to Denise and children. Glad the fur babies got immediate care from the kind vet. THANK YOU YORKIEDAZE FOR STARTING THIS THREAD.

Hi all, checking in before bed like I always do. This talk about helping the kids and I is about to make me cry and I lost my tears a long time ago. The kindness of the Yorkie Talk community is overwhelming. You don't even know me. No, I don't have a bank acct or credit card to open Pay Pal. At home I pretty much just cash my check at the corner store and pay my bills. No need with the fuss of a bank, it's gone. There's no pretty way to put it.

I guess the easiest way would be the moneygram service at Walmart. I've heard it's pretty cheap. You would be given a refrence number I would have to have, and provide the senders name. it takes a lot to sit her and give people instructions on how to help but you're all trying so hard.

Please know I will be going to bed tonight with a warm feeling I haven't had in a long time, I am not alone..and someone cares. Your prayers for all of us on the Gulf coast, some in worse shape than others, are surely heard. How could they not be.

no sweetie - you are NOT alone. This site helped me so much after my husband died so I know first hand what people here are capable of....

I was one of the lucky ones that made it thru the storm intact, so helping YOU is just paying it forward

We have some angels here....Just glad to be part of it and I felt pretty good last night too :)

First of all, take a few nice deep breaths and let yourself rest easy hon knowing the ladies here are willing to help. I know your fears and the scare of not knowing if your home is standing or not. But more importantly I know your worries with special needs children. The changes are so hard on them. You and your family have my love and my thoughts.

I was able to send the money to Villette thru ebay so she could send it to Wal-Mart. It was so much faster that way. I want to thank Villette for being the angel she is and to Vi (stella's mom) for her very thoughtful contribution. I'm sure there are others who have helped out as well. Denise, hang in there. Let us know if your house is still standing and if you still have your job. Personally I'm not quitting till I know you and the two kids are ok.
