I'm hoping the best for you and your family, and am so sorry you have to go through this. Keeping you guys in my thoughts and prayers, you are a strong person and I can tell you will make it out of this terrible situation.

Waking up each morning and going to bed each night, reading the words of encouragement from you sweet ladies is keeping me lifted up. Thank you just doesn't do it justice. I pray God blesses you 7 fold. I'm guessing right now I'm the little sparrow He has His eye on, and it truly warms my heart.

I'm hoping for the rest of our small city to have power by tomorrow so we might get to start home by tomorrow evening. I'm nervous about going home but I have faith that the powers that be that led us here safely will lead us home the same way. We will handle what comes our way one day at a time.

It's going to be a beautiful day, I feel good and full of hope ;). I feel the weight off my shoulders having found that I really do have friends. There are really people behind these cute lil screen names with big hearts. I will never forget the strength and support being given me :).

I'm so glad for you that things are feeling more manageable for you....I hope your back home soon ......it is so inspiring to see so many Y.T. friends caring and sharing for their cyber friends.......

I am so incredibly sorry to hear this story. You should be able to receive all the help you need. YOu are such a strong, brave woman. I admire your attitude and strength through all this. I will pray and pray that your home rode out the storm with no major damage. (((HUGS))) to you!

I feel so bad for you......I have my father and sister with me. We lost 4 houses in Bridge City. We found a local church here in Katy Tx. They are helping with food and gas money. Maybe if you found a church in the area you are in. Between them and YT members it has helped so much! We move everything out of my sisters house and father home. We save very little , mostly family photos on the walls and we dried a few photo albums. Its really hard. I heard 80% of the beaumont area has electricty. When we were there yesterday there were actually a few restuarants open. We gutted two houses and retreived a few items from two trailors. Mounds of my familys life sitting out for garbage. :(:(:( My father broke down several times. I know it's hard but it puts it in perspective as we drove by the Bridge City bridges and search and rescue was searching for bodies in the marsh area. It was not my family that the canine rescue unit was searching for. It was not my entire family found in an attic on Fernwood in Bridge City. I am STILL blessed......Hurricane Ike did not take my family. Only stuff that can be replaced! God Bless your family and keep them in his hands. I'll pray for you! Pam K

God Bless you Pam. My brother was among those in Bridge City on 1442 to lose everything. Most of the water has receeded and friends have helped him gut his house. Him and his wife and the dog are there sleeping on a mattress on the floor..not because they have no place to go but because of the looters! People are putting things they are trying to save on the front lawn to dry and other people are just driving up and helping themselves. My brothers home is way off the road and they had all their antiques in front drying, a man actually drove up to the house and was asking if could have certain things they had sitting out there. My brother lives on the bayou and doesn't call 911, he will stay there and protect what might be left. Stories of the looting, especially in BC are just awful. One would wonder what is left to steal. best of luck to you and your family. Please keep us up to date on your situation. I will be praying for you all. This isn't an ending..it can be a new beginning. Tie your panties in a knot and do what you gotta do..you can do it.. you're from Texas.;)

I feel good Deb. Everythings gonna be alright. I saw on the entergytexas.com website that our power is back on. Tomorrow after a doctor here sees my son we will be headed on back home. I have great expectations and will count my blessings in my heart the whole way. You know, in this world all we have is each other to hold on to..I think in the grand scheme of things it was meant to be that way. My family here has stepped up to meet me, and renewed my faith in a lot of things...makes you want to go out and hug a tree don't it? I will never forget my friends getting me thru this. You have all been so sweet to me. I look forward to going home tomorrow and check things out first hand for myself. My son called, they had just made it back from Mt. Pleasant. That's where they evacuated to..they have to be near a hospital that is equiped for Nathan (my grandson with the pacemaker I had told you all about a few months ago) just in case. They got out days before the storm. Anyway, they came home to black mold everywhere. Luckily, his wife's mom lives nearby so they have a place to stay. If you would keep them in your prayers too.

Hoping to get back to work wednesday. This has really been an ordeal, but i wasn't alone, thanks for that. Tomorrow is a new day.;)

Our electricity is still out, the heat is getting unbearable, I'm considering getting my 2 furkids shaved ....:eek:

Denise, I am so happy you will finally get to go home! I know you dread what you may find, but sometimes it's not nearly as bad as you imagine. Please, please be careful and know that we are all praying for a good outcome for you and your children. God bless and protect all of you!

That we are leaving for home now. The cell that I have been using is my Dad's so I won't have it after tomorrow. Villette has my home number. Thanks again for everything, I did find out we traveled almost 300 hundred miles so don't know how long it will take to get home. Have a great day everyone, you deserve it. :)
