So what's your story? Hey YTers!!! The thought occured to me, "I wonder why some of my new YT friends joined YT?" SO...I thought I'd ask:D I'll start. I found YT one day while in class (yes I know I shouldn't have been surfin the web in class, but my prof was exceptionally boring!!!) I usually visitied the other site I'm a member of 8thcivic.com (yes I like cars:eek: shocking isn't it?:D) and I thought I'd browse for cute puppy pictures instead. I found this site and many classes later decided to join and ask about a certain breeder and ask for feedback. Thanks to YT, I stayed away from a bad breeder and I decided to stay and learn while I wait for the right time to get my first furbaby. So what's your story, why did you join YT? |
When my 1st pup was neutered, he had one nutty buddy that didn't drop so the vet had to go in like a spay and remove it. I was so worried about him with the large incision, stitches, pain meds & having him wear the cone for 2 weeks non-stop like my vet said so I got online and tried to google to find out more information to help him be more comfortable. Lo & Behold the search pulled up YT and that's how I got started on this amazing website.....learned so many tips and facts that I couldn't stop logging on...:thumbup::thumbup::thumbup: Derby & I & now Jockey have been here ever since. Well when I was in the process of getting Dino I wanted to read more about house training, what I should do the first couple of months etc. Almost every search I did lead me to YT but it would lead me to threads from 2005, so I assumed that maybe the site had been shut down and there was just the what was left of the old threads. Then one day I was searching a question about showering puppies and I got curious so I just typed...yorkietalk.com... come and behold I came across a very great web site! I joined and it's been history ever since :) |
I don't even remember....I think I just did a web search one day and ran accross it. |
I joined to learn more about Yorkshire Terriers from people who own them, (or are owned by them!) and have an avenue to gather information. I was a member of a website for my Shih Tzu, so wanted to be a member of a website for my Yorkie mix too. I never knew what fun YT would be when I first signed up!! So many friendly & fun people on here, and we don't just talk about our babies all the time ... we talk about other stuff too. So I really enjoy it. I never thought I'd get up to over 400 posts in my whole life anywhere!!! I've decided once I hit 500 I'm gonna donate so I can get a big ol' "Donating Member" designation under my name. :D Oh, and also contribute to a site thats so much fun. :) |
I lost my yorkie, and about a year later I was looking at possibly get another little girl. The situation was very tramatic for me and I wasn't sure if I could get another, so I browsed online and found yorkie talk. YT helped me move past the grieve and open my heart again. :) Suri is home now, just picked her up a few weeks ago. |

My Husband got Bobby for my 30th Bday. We went and picked him up, and I had no idea what to do with him. I was not familiar with the breed and he was the first puppy I ever had. So I started my research online and found this site. I cant remember exactly what I was searching for, but I am so glad I found YorkieTalk. I just looked as a guest for a few weeks to learn and then I joined. I love this site! |

I found YT about a month after we got Wrigley as a puppy! I just did a search on Yorkies and found it! I wanted to learn more about them, since Wrigley was our first Yorkie. We had Crosley already, who is a Yorkie-Poo. |

A google search for a name that I wont mention but his last name is that of a big dog:rolleyes: I found this site, found Sam, and made some great friends all in one night! |
I found this site while trying to figure out how to deal with the loss of my fist yorkie. |
When I got Lola I searched for yorkie sites and came across this one. I liked it because people share pics and funny things that their yorkies do and it also has a lot of information. So I decided to join in on all the fun! |
I Googled 'Yorkie' and 'Yorkshire Terrier' when I was researching the breed and found YT. Joining was the best thing I did with regard to my research because I've learnt so much from others' knowledge and real-life experiences. When I got Twinkle I felt much more prepared than I would have done otherwise.........so thanks everyone!:Dxxx xxx |

I googled Yorkshire Terriers and Yorkie Talk popped up. Only forum that looked friendly and seemed to be very active. I was happy it was a forum and not a website with no interaction. |
I was on facebook on a group webpage for yorkie owners and there was a thread about yorkietalk. So I decided to investigate and got hooked immediately and loved to see there are people obsessed with their yorkie just like me! haha |

I was looking for info on yorkies before and after we got Emma. I didn't join until after we brought her home :) I'm sure, like many others, I was googling and came across YT-glad I did! |
Grief.... hubby and me had lost Oscarito a few days earlier and hubby was researching for grieving dog websites and he found YT then he told me about it. I went to the In memory of... section and told everyone our story about losing our baby.... Have been here since then. |
