Helped a Chihuahua find home.....kind of wish I hadn't :(
 

Today as I was coming home from class right when I was in the corner of my house I almost ran over a Chihuahua that darted in front of my car as I was coming.. I kept going and looked back at it as it was staring at my car from the middle of the street. I got home..parked and I couldn't do it. I got up and went back and it was still where I had left it. It had a collar but the collar didn't have any identification. He was very small and weighed 2-3lbs at most. It was very sweet and let me pet him and even turned on his belly for me. It was so sweet that I decided I was going to ask around and see what would happen. I knocked at a couple houses to no avail. He was following me around the block as I asked around. 10 doors later I had a breakthrough, the lady told me she thinks the dog belonged to the person across the street. I cross the street and knocked on the door... No one answered. As I was walking away someone was pulling into the driveway. I asked the lady if he was hers and she responded by saying "Unfortunately Yes". I told her what happened and she is like, "Ugh that dog always finds its way back" She then grabs the dog pretty rough and chains it on a leash that was no more than 3 ft and attaches it to the fence. No food or water insight. We live in Florida and it is 95 degrees outside. :(

She didn't even thank me :( . As I pulled away the dog stared at me and I started crying because that dog wasn't receiving the life it deserved. How can owners be so negligent? :(

she obviously doesn't want him. i'd take him next time i saw him outside with nobody home.

or i'd call the aspca to investigate. thats animal cruelty

Yes me too... poor baby :( Maybe even ask her if if you could have him then try and find him a good home :(

I'd go back and get him. I'm about 50 minutes from you and its crazy hot during the days and for such a little dog!!! That is horrible! I'd go bring him water and the next time you don't see their car, knock on their door, and if they don't answer then take him, like the other posters said, she wouldn't miss him. That's just so sad. You can also call the ASPCA. That baby needs to be rescued soon tho! It's suppose to be 98-105 degrees for the next 5 days!!!:eek: Keep us updated!

Go back and ask her if she'd like to get rid of him, you'll take him. You won't have a problem finding a better home for him!

Oh how awful for you, here you thought you were saving the dog, for someone who would be overjoyed that you found him, and she treated him like he was a nuisance. I agree with the others, I think I would go back and ask her if she would consider selling him. Sometimes it's easier when we don't know about such things, sorry you had to find out about him, but maybe you can help him.

Well by her saying "Unfortunately Yes" That just shows she does not want him...Maybe you could ask her to give him to you and you can try and find him a forever loving home that he so much deserves.

Call the ASPCA asap. This poor little dog needs help!

oh no :( I would go back and ask her if I could take him :( I would keep him or find him another home. if he's really that small and that sweet, you won't have any problem finding someone to love him in a forever home.

What is wrong with that lady!!:mad: She doesn't deserve that sweet dog and the dog deserves a better life.
