I would have to say parents. It is the parents job to superviser there children. Plus, anyone can get their foot caught on a escalator with any kind of shoe if the they are not paying attention to how they are getting onto the escalator. |
That is the parents responsibility. There are too many frivolous lawsuits in our Country. It could have happen with any kind of shoe |

I believe that it is the fault of the parents on this one. Escalators are a danger for even adults thats why you should exit off one with caution. Poor Croc company. |
I swear this country needs to do something about personal responsibility and law suits....come on everybody,everything that happens to us isn't a lawsuit.:rolleyes: I remember a while back a woman was jogging and she tripped over her shoe laces and hurt her wrist or hand and she claimed she could not work, so she actually tried to sue the shoe manufacture ( it may have been Nike) for putting too long of laces on the shoes... :eek: |
Ditto on all that is said! I mean anyone could have a shoelace or anything else get caught in an escalator. It seems like in this country people are always looking to blame someone other than themselves for everything! Remember the lady who sued McDonalds because she got burned in her car when she spilled the coffee, she said it was too hot! |
My first thought was, "Was a parent holding her hand when she was on the escalator?" Doesn't sound like it. And if not, I definitely blame the parents. People need to see these shoes for what they are: similar to going around in flip flops and not safe for all activities. They've been banned in a number of hospitals and nursing homes here because of people getting hurt on the job. They may be comfy, but they have their limits with safety. |
Definitely the parents fault! I still have a fear of escalators because of these stories (there was another one a long time ago). Therefore, whenever I'm on one and get to the bottom or top (getting ready to get off) I basically jump so my pants or shoes or whatever doesn't get caught :p. |
It's the flippin parents!!! Kids shuffle their feet when they walk, keep an eye on them. Since you are supposed to hold your kids' hands on the escalator anyway.... this should never have happened. It's not croc's fault, it's not the airports fault and it's not the escalator companies fault. Totally the parents!! It's like that stupid woman who sued McD's because the coffee was hot. Duh!!! That Judge should be slapped for ruling on that. I want to counter sue the parents for being negligent and making us all look bad!!! Seriously. I wonder if I could. sorry I'm in a mood today, I'm liable to rip someone's head off before it's over. Heck my mama coulda made a mint off of me everytime I feel off my skateboard, bike, rollerblades... goodgrief |

Years ago someone sued a cleaning manufacturer for a product their child drank..that was stored in an accessible area. At the time my mother said...in her day...the fault would lie with the parent's who weren't watching thier kid. I hate these people who immediately think lawsuit...cha ching. |
