I thought Baytown was under a mandatory evacuation? Do you really think it safe to stay with a possible 20 foot storm surge? Please stay safe!!!!

I am keeping all who are in Ike's path in my thoughts and prayers.
they are calling it a monster, a killer hurricane. this one is huge, please if you can evacuate, do it, i am so worried for all of you.

only a certain part of baytown is and luckily we are not that part. our windows are boarded up, we have tons of food and water and we have flashlights and propane for the grill. i'll keep you updated.

I'm praying and hoping everyone is okay and stays safe. I really hope it is nothing big.

looks like where i live is in the path of the after storms. I pray everyone in the path of the storm is safe!

Just spoke to my mom in Kingwood. They are having high winds and gusts, but no rain yet. From what I tell from the news all the coastal areas (Baytown, Clearlake, Surfside, Galveston Island, Kemah, TX City, League City, etc.) are flooding. They expected the island to completely covered with water with 15 foot waves where the houses are in the City of Galveston (right where the seawall is). Please stay safe everyone. I am send prays and thoughts to everyone in the Houston/Galveston area.

Thinking and praying for you all in this path of this hurricane.. I have had cnn on all day and just cannot take my eyes off of it, nor look for posts to see who is safe and who has evacuated and had to leave their homes.. v I am thinking of you also.. being alone.. I am hoping right now you went to stay with some one and are safe..

Last email I got from Villette she was with her Mom and Dad and of course she took the girls, her sister and I think she said three children and felt all these people were going to be hard on her Dad. They are in Houston in a house I'm quite sure but it might be a higher elevation. Has anyone heard from Kim (txshopper)?? I think she's in a sm. town outside of Houston but don't know how far. It hit hard during the night and they expect 10 inches more rain today. Prayers are coming for all from me.

Maybe I read this wrong?? Where is she stuck alone or with them. I asked her where her Mom and Dad lived now. (she said here at my mom's) so I hope they are together.)

Right here in houston with ME - but they have a houseful - my sister and 3 kids were susposed to go to their inlaws and ended up here at my moms - so I'm kind of stuck. 2 dogs and 3 kids is alot for my dad to cope with right now.

I just got back on today, checking in to see if anyone has heard from anyone.. I think there is no power in houston, so we might have to wait to see information on everyone and there safety. I hate the wait... still praying all will be ok.. anne

Villette, was alone but her power is on and she is ok. Dogs frightened out of their wits but fine too. Her Mom and Dad and brother have no power in fact she is the only one she knows that has power. I'm sure she'll be on YT if her power stays on as she hoped.
