The Greatest American Dog is.............
 
............... yeah, sorry, I'm not going to do that again. Remember, I blew it for some people after the finale of Groomer Has It because of the time difference and for those that had it recorded to watch later.

So suffice it to say I was pleasantly surprised with the winner:thumbup: and would have been happy with either of the final two.:)

The last three standing were JD & Galaxy, Travis & Presley, and Lori & Andrew.........do YOU know who won???? ;)

I guess if we are not saying who it was, then I will say that I was okay with it but still disappointed since I wanted the runner up to win. i was really pulling for that dog and thought it showed a great deal of courage for reasons we will all understand.

The one trainer doesn't seem to like JD too much, but he has the best trained dog I think. Andrew barks too much, and Travis and Presley have learned the most and seem to be the judges fav.

Can't you type the winners in blue letters that will only show up if someone highligts it. Pick the shade of blue that matches the page, and use font 1.

As of last week and up until I heard the judges talking about the final two, I was SURE that the runner up would win. But as they debated the pros & cons of their choices, it didn't seem so quite as "in the bag" as I had originally thought.
It's too bad they couldn't have shared the title as the judges mentioned as they both were good....in different ways.

I don't think that I ever heard Andrew bark. He always seemed so quiet. i thought that the barker already got sent home? Sorry, just had never heard Andrew bark,

Do you NOT know who won? You could probably look it up on the show's website.
Don't know that I agree with Galaxy being the best trained dog....maybe equally well trained as Andrew. And I don't remember Andrew barking much either.....maybe you're thinking of the border collie????:confused:

Oh, you are right, I was thinking about Teresa and Leroy, I forgot about Andrew, and he really was one of my favorites. Haven't seen tonights show yet. All three did a great job.

I was ok with the winner but really wanted the runner-up to win because I thought he was the better trained dog in all ways and very courageous. Oh well.

I knew who would win..and he did. But I agree with the reasoning of the judges.. for both of them.. with Andrew being too attached and with Presley being young and still a pup.. but like they said..it's The Greatest Dog..not trained dog..just greatest dog. I was a cute show.. I watched it.

I think Andrew got ripped off!! He should have won for sure!! Presley was great but Andrew did everything and they didn't scale much of it down for him. It was a lot harder for Andrew to do most of those activities but he did it!! Lori is an inspiration as an owner and a trainer.

I liked both of them....I just adored little Andrew though! :wub: And he was sooo wonderful...the love and training those two shared! WoW!!!

I agree...I watched the show from the beginning and even though it was not what I thought the show would be I quickly became involved with the doggies. They were all great but man that little Andrew was so good and brave..especially with that huge elephant. Presley was good but again little Andrew had to do all that the big dogs could do and they didn't scale back for him. He had to do that agility course the same as Presley.

In my book Andrew is the real Greatest American Dog..too bad Andrew's mommy didn't get the $$$.:animal-pa:animal-pa:mad:

I was pulling for Andrew too. I admired Lori's training methods because she was calm with Andrew and not loud. He seemed so well trained and I was amazed at the things he accomplished. I thought Lori and Andrew's bond was touching.

I liked Travis and Presley but I thought Presley screwed up on a recent competition enough that if it was any other dog he would have been sent home. At that point I suspected that Travis was going to win. I think the judges predetermined that they wanted Travis and Presley to win because of their 'personality appeal' or something. Travis and Presley were both adorable. Lori and Andrew seemed more 'low key' to me and maybe that wasn't what they were looking for in the Greatest American Dog. I wish there would have been a nice second place award for Lori, she deserved it.

I have talked to Lori personally through email, and she is SUCH a sweet lady, and VERY much in love with her dogs. She has I think 6 others. NOT all little dogs.

She is a great person, and even better dog owner. I look up to and admire her:D

And Presley was just adorable as well. We also liked him:thumbup:

Just glad JD did not win....

we have had boxers for about 25 years , and always thought they we're the greatest dogs , have only had yorkies about 3 years , would have liked to have seen a yorkie on the show , maybe next season im sure there will be a next season. people just look at us when we pull in to a parking lot with a boxer and a yorkie in a car seat beside them:):aimeeyork

I think they should have selected dogs by size and put them in the right category and not have large and small together. Maybe the worlds smartest small, and worlds smartest med. maybe even a worlds smartest large. :D

i agree.. yorkies are my absolute fave!! but i love boxers also! :) i would love a car full of boxers and yorkies too!! hehe. :p ;)

I taped it and just watched it tonight. I don't think the last challenge (the one with the 3 dogs) was judged fairly. They expected very little of Andrew and really put Presley through the paces. It seems like once again it was little one out. When I have had my girls in puppy school, the teachers always played favorites with the big dogs, claiming they are easier to work with because they don't fill up on treats as fast. I just have an attitude about little dogs being discriminated against, no listen to me whine! I can't say this was one of the better dog shows I have every watched. Maybe it will grow on me next season. Congrats to Presley!

i just feel that presley was such a young dog of course hes going to pick thing up quickly being around all those trainers.. i think lori put alot of hard work and time into andrew and deserved to win. who knows how presley will act when not on the show and if travis will keep up his training.. jmo though
