Sorry. That spider, or any spider, no matter how cool or interesting it may, will be killed and quickly.

Awww! Don't destroy the egg sack. Like someone before me said , you won't end up with hundreds, most will be carried off in the wind.
I have a pet Tarantula she is a Mexican Red Knee and her name is Insy. We bought her when she was about 20mm in diameter she is still not fully grown. Spiders are fascinating and have been here much, much longer than us. They definitely deserve our respect.

It's right outside our back patio doors from our railing to the power lines from the house.

I guess he/she wouldn't consider us a friend since we've knocked down the web numerous times. AMAZINGLY, everytime, the web would be back up the very next day!:eek:
ooohh nice web. I wish I could get a pic of my girls web like that.

Well she did not make a web yesterday or last night, she stayed up in the lights, but it was raining here so maybe thats why. When I got up this morning there was a smaller version of her web up so she must have come down at some point during the night, but she was back up in the light this morning. I don't expect her to be around too much longer at this point, maybe another couple days.

NOPE! couldn't do it!! I get creep,crawley feeling allll over my body when I see a spider!!! I'd rather hold a snake! And those freak me out too!

While spiders don't bother me too much - living in the country you tend to get used to them - I still will usually kill one if I see it in the house - if only for the reason that I don't want to clean cobwebs! ;) We do have quite a few daddy long-legs out in the garage. They are a little creepy too but they are the "good guys"!! They are probably why we don't have other spiders in the house very often. I will hold one of those and let it crawl on my arm sometimes. They're pretty neat.

Blech! :tongue030 Well you just keep those suckers in YOUR part of the state. I've seen Banana Spiders in Orlando and they are HUGE! :eek: I certainly don't want to find one of those suckers in my yard. :sad: Those big yellow and black garden spiders that you see from time to time here are bad enough!

I don't mind small spiders, I know they eat alot of other bugs.
Though when we first finished our basement, I found a HUGE one carrying a sac on it's back in my bathroom and I almost passed out!

At work we get the BIG wooly ones and I don't like those at all!

I think this is my longest thread EVER! LOL who knew how many spider lovers there are out there???? ok ok not lovers really but tolerators of nature even if we hate it! :)

Count me in as one of the banana spider haters! Ick they are just plain scary. When I was visiting in Florida once I swear to God that one of them came up to me and demanded money!

I read this thread last night and thought, wow the OP and folks with spidey pets sound so brave and respectful of nature. BUT I woke up twice with nightmares of your spider and 10,000 of his friends crawling all over me!! :eek: Kudos to you all who have respect for these guys. In my phobic defense, I was raised in a house where my DAD (*snicker*) would go around vacuuming bugs with a loooong nose vacuum.

i don't HATE many things.. (& no offense to the ones who enjoy watching them..) but i'm the biggest SPIDER HATER you will find!!!!!!! blahhhhhhh!!!! :thumbdown:thumbdown they creep me out! i am literally freaked by them! whatta baby :rolleyes: ..i know and i DON'T EVEN CARE.. :eek: they may be a part of nature and all (and trust me i respect that completely!) BUT when it comes to spiders/insects for that matter.. but truly spiders.. NATURE does NOT include MY HOME!!!!!!! ;)

I am a tarantula lover! My husband and I have had Chilean Rose Hair Tarantulas for years. I absolutely love them. Ours are named Thing, Fang and Itt. Unfortunately, Thing passed away last winter. We donated her to the local museum where she is displayed for kids to see.

Yep, same thing for me too. It was in my living room! :eek: They were nearly microscopic. If I hadn't had ivory carpet, I wouldn't have even know. EEEEWWWW.

Well my pet is still around but she has not made a web in DAYS. She hangs out INSIDE these hanging globe string lights I have. Inside one of the globes. Always the same one. The other day the wind must have made the string fall on the part she hangs out on but she still stayed in the same light. I wonder why she is not making a web anymore. She creeps me out and gives me the heeby jeebies EVERYTIME I see her, yet Im bummed she is not there at my window to give me the creeps! haha

OH MY GOSHHHHH!!!!!!!! :eek: sick! i am so grossed out by this!!! blahhhhh. :eek: (and we have DARKER colored carpet in part of our house!! :eek:)
