Pray for my sanity Last Saturday (the 30th) was my oldest DD's 14th birthday. Her party is tonight. I have ELEVEN girls ages 13 - 14 coming to a SLUMBER PARTY! Have ya'll ever told your kids "yes" to something and then panicked about it when it come time to actually let them do it? That's where I'm at now. lol I am having a MAJOR 'what the hell was I thinking??' moment. Hopefully it won't be too bad. They are all pretty good girls, and the one that I was little apprehensive about (a sweet girl, but has some issues) ended up grounded and can't come anyway. DD is VERY excited. This is her first real teenage-type sleepover (apparently the ones she had when she was "just a kid" don't count lol). |
just go hide in your room and you'll be fine  |
Oh you will have so much fun! Start planning revenge. For my oldest son's 13th birthday, we had 13 boys for a spend the nighter..... We lived in a small log house and the boy's bedroom was just above ours. Hubby was scheduled to go to a horse event the next morning and had to get up real early so he needed his sleep. Well.... needless to say the boys kept us up until around 3 am when they crashed. Revenge is sweet - I got up at 4:30, fixed a big breakfast and woke them all up when Ron got up to leave. LOL - they just couldn't understand why I woke them up so early...... Revenge is sweet :D:D:D |
lol I agree with Graysons Mom! :D Good luck and I'm sure they'll be well behaved.:p |
oOooo send'em over to my house! What's 11 more :p We LOVE slumber parties here! Of course we are going to need permission to leave the house so we can do a scavenger hunt in town! Have a great time! Our next BIG (more than 10 is BIG) slumber party is a few months away. |
That sound so sweet! Let us know how it when! :) |
I just went through this last week. My dd's birthday was July 31st but we waited to have her party as a lot of folks go on vacation then. WELL, there were 11 guests, 5 of which spent the night. I wanted to DIE:laugh: No seriously, it was okay, just very noisy with all the high-pitched giggling:p I raised 4 boys and they and their friends were NEVER as loud as this group of girls was:confused: But they all had a good time and nothing got broken, and no one got seriously injured. There were a couple of bandaids needed from one of the girls toenails scratching   Just make sure they have plenty of stuff to eat and do and they should leave you with your sanity intact (or no worse off anyway!) Good luck, I'll pray for you;) |

What kind of medications do you have on hand? TAKE THEM. :D |
Ok...I am the voice of reason...everyone else thinks they are great fun. I thought it was NUTSO....and LOUD....and they NEVER GO TO SLEEP! So have fun...LOL. :D |
My SIL gave my niece a big slumber party & she had them all little fun things to do-she went to the hobby shop & got them cute little flip-flops to put rhinestones on & then they did the ones where she cut the material in strips w/pinking shears & they made those fluffy looking flip-flops plus she got the kit where they decorated a pair of sunglasses ALSO maybe good idea I've done in my shop (but they could do this on each other) ;) they do mini-pedis & manis, let them do each others hair & give them all a boa & let the fun BEGIN!!! oh well! & never & I MEAN NEVER underestimate the power of a good margarita ;) |
I've survived! Only a slight headache, but otherwise I'm OK. The girls woke up about an hour ago and all but 4 of them have gone home already. It wasn't nearly as bad as I thought it would be. Lots of giggling...lots and LOTS of giggling. Lots of, "Oh my gosh! Are you SERIOUS?" I bet I heard that 10000001 times. lol |
Sleep overs are fun! Im glad you survived it. We let our daughter have one a yr where a bunch of girls come over |

See, you did survive. LOL Aren't they fun. I used to love it when the kids had parties like that. A huge tent outside, sleeping bags and pillows, lots of pop in a cooler, a TON of food from the store, a stereo, forwarned neighbors with lots of patience (their kids were over here too) and a good sense of humor. That is the recipe for surviving 15-30 teenagers. :) Now it is grandkids once in awhile. Enjoy it while you can... they are gone before you know it.. |
