Last night's Greatest American Dog Anyone still watching? I've really been enjoying the show, even though some of the challenges have been ridiculous, it's been very entertaining. I don't understand why the judges are so hard on JD and Galaxy? I don't see dominance/submission training techniques. I see a guy and his dog who have great fun together. He trains by making it fun. Galaxy doesn't need a food reward. As much as I think JD and Galaxy are a great team, it would be amazing for a little Maltese to win Greatest American Dog! Did you see the elephant challenge? Andrew was amazing! Little Dog Power! |
I watched last night. I didn't see anything bad with his training/actions either. They were hard on him. I did feel bad for the dogs in that challenge, I understand what they were doing, but how confusing for the dogs. The way the Maltese acted when his owner was away.. is exactly what Bailey would have done, exactly. |
Yes, I also watch it and enjoy it very much. Andrew is an amazing little dog. He's so well trained and does well in all his challenges without any stress too. Lori has done a great job training him and they have a very special bond I believe. Galaxy is also a very well trained dog. I think JD didn't get a good review because at times I find him alittle cocky! He and his dog also have a very good bond. Buddy would have charged the elephant with no problem:eek: |
i like the boxer, forget his name,, he just cracks me up... soooo cute |
The Boxer is Presley. Travis and Presley. They get on my nerves, because Travis is a new trainer and Presley is a young dog, out of control sometimes. Travis is always stealing training tips from watching everyone else. I don't think they deserve to be in the final three. Give them a couple more years of learning - both of them. Sampson probably would have charged the Elephant too. Daisy would have ran and hid. Well, she's scared of flies, maybe she wouldn't be of an Elephant! |

Ashley, I believe Gina. She's still young but I do believe she and her owner will be a great duo in time. |
he always looks like he is gonna cry and it makes me sooooo sad .. and you can tell how much he loves that dog... he really loves him |
Who got kicked off last night??? My Tivo didn't record the whole thing because of the Republican convention!! |

Oh, Teresa and Leroy!! I'm glad they left, I didn't like how she was so nervous and actually made Leroy bark!! Thanks for letting me know!! I want Lori and Andrew to win!! |
'The Boys' and I LOVE that show! We're all for Andrew! |
I enjoy the show too and will miss it when it is done. I am pulling for Lori and Andrew. The judge Victoria is an amazing trainer. I found her show on Animal Planet called It's me or the Dog. I watch it all the time now. |
Leroy is a Border Collie. Theresa is right, he needs a job. Bill tried to point out to Theresa that whenever she raises the pitch of her voice, Leroy barks. But she hasn't stopped squealing at him. Travis almost cried a lot on last night's show many times. At least he didn't push Presley too far and understands that he's too young to expect too much. The finale looks good. They're gonna have to go back through an obstacle course of everything they've done - including the elephant! |

Some of the things they have had to do are seriously more difficult for the Maltese IMO. Therefore, I really want him to win. He's beautifully trained, calm, and intelligent. Kalina would have acted the same way with other people - spent the entire time looking for me! What a cutie!~ :) |

I miss Bill and Star :( |
I really miss Bill and Star too, but I am amazed by Lori and Andrew. Little Andrew is so well trained, but weren't there some issues with them earlier in the series? I hope they win now because they are great. Go Little Dog!:) |
Just as some things are more difficult for a small dog, some things are easier, like walking across a narrow plank. I was most worried about Andrew with the Lab puppies challenge. Puppies twice the size of him could have seriously injured him. I know my dogs are very nervous around large breed puppies. I didn't think that was a fair challenge at all. They should have had some small breed puppies for Andrew to lead out of the maze. I rewatched the first few episodes today and there were issues with Lori and Andrew early on. Like when Lori enlarged the opening in the paper covered hoop. I've actually been pulling more for JD and Galaxy. They've consistently done well. However, in reading the bios of all the trainers today, JD is a professional trainer and Galaxy one of his stars. They travel around the country doing stunts. I"m not sure how fair that is, but I don't think that mattered as far as qualifying for the show. Travis (with Presley) has an interesting bio too. It says he grew up with dogs and that he's an aspiring actor. Yet in the show he's said he doesn't know much about dogs and hasn't been training long. I'm thinking that his whole persona of being a novice dog trainer who doesn't know what he's doing is an act to look like an underdog. Interesting strategy. I think it's working. He would very well win this thing. |
