Good thoughts needed today !!! My 5 yr old is getting tubes put in his ears this morning. I'm not nervous about the procedure itself only the part of him being put under for it to be done. He doesn't react well to anesthesia. He's had fluid built up for awhile now and it's only gotten worse with treatment, so this is our hope that it will relieve him of some pressure and let him hear better. He's deaf on his left side from a birth defect but in addition to that, he can barely hear out of his right. anyways, I'm babbling. Good thoughts would be greatly appreciated today  thanks |
Thoughts are with you today. :) |
Well wishes for your little guy today. My dtr had them done 15 yrs ago along with having her adenoids removed. All went well. The only problem was it amplified her hearing so well after having the fluid buffer all the noise that it hurt her ears to even flush the toilet. But she adjusted. I know several children who have had this done, some several times. The hardest part is keeping water out of their ears. I'm sure he will be fine and they will come out on their own(at least my dtr's did). |
I know how worrying it is when one of your children has to go to a hospital or the doctors for anything....I worry sick even if one of mine has a cough or cold! I'm sending good thoughts and wishes to you and your son today. Love from Claire xxx |
He did great, we got to watch a movie before he went back, they used Root Beer scent in the gas mask so he liked that. They took me to his waiting room and maybe 5 mins after I sat down, the doctor came to tell me he was done! It was another 15-20 before Caulin came in, talking asking the nurses if he was going to be okay haha He had juice and a popscicle and we headed home. He was hungry so we went to get him some pancakes and right when we pulled out he hollered his stomach hurt and then he yacked! UGH So, we are home, he's resting watching a Thomas video. If he doesn't Yak again I'm heading into work. He's already commenting how loud everything is, he wants his ears 'quiet' again so it will be an adjustment. He's already NOT glued to the tv literally, he's standing away and watching and hearing just fine! awesome!! Thanks guys  so much for your thoughts :) |
Sending prayers and a big hug. |
I'm so glad that all went well xxx |
I'm glad to hear that everything went so smoothly. I hope the adjustment period goes smoothly for you too. |
