Looking for a *tacky* wedding dress!
 
I am planning my best friend's bachelorette party for the end of the month and I've came up with a pretty good idea..or so I think!:rolleyes::D I am asking everyone to wear gaudy formal wear, like poofy prom dresses and feather boas, etc. Then, I want to have a wedding gown for Amanda to wear. I'm thinking the uglier the better...long sleeves, full train, beading, the works! My problem is that I can't find one here in town!:eek: I just looked on ebay but I can't find one tacky enough!:rolleyes: Would you mind checking the goodwill/ salvation army stores in your area for me??? You can not even imagine how appreciative I am to anyone willing to help me out. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!!

How much are you wanting to spend and what size?

What a great idea!!! I just found this one on ebay, but the starting bid is $499. :eek: No way they're getting that.

I'll keep my eyes peeled for you online ... no thrift stores where I am.

I was also going to mention... normally the tackier ones date back and the sizing is not comparable to today's sizing.

For instance.... the 80s bbq for the b-day girl (21) they took a wedding dress from goodwill size 8 ... well she is a size 2-4 in today's world so be careful if ordering an older size. :eek:

Do you have a Salvation Army Store near you? Or a consignment shop? I frequent our SA Store and there are currently a couple wedding gowns of questionable class (so many beads and bling they must weigh a ton:p) and some pretty hideous gowns. Extremely cheap!!! If you do have any, keep an eye out for half-off day. Good luck - that's a super idea. You must post pics.

OOP! Just reread your OP. Missed the last sentence, lol. I'll be happy to check back at ours. I think the one dress was about $45 and a size 10 or 12. But, my memory only lasts about 20 minutes, so I'll have to go back and check again:D.

The picture you posted is exactly what I'm going for!!:D As far as size goes, she wears about an 8 or 10. I think her waist is about 30-32 inches...I'm guessing. I don't care a whole lot if it fits perfect or not because I can also alter it and add a lace up back or something..no worries about making the dress look any worse!:D I don't want to spend a whole lot of money...probably $50 is my maximum. You ladies have no idea how much I appreciate your help! You're the best!!

Ill call our Goodwill tomorrow to see when they are running a special. They ran all over their wedding dresses for 20 bucks sometimes:eek: When do you need this by?

You need to go to wallmart and get those cheap plastic flowers and sew them on the dress diff. colors it that is not tacky nothing is oh the batt. operated lights for extra sparkle

:lol tears Perfect! It gets no better than twinkle lites on a wedding gown. Remember the pic someone posted of the tank-top made out of men's skivvies? How about a skirt added to those? They should, of course, be different colors.

Check out this dress that I'm bidding on for myself to wear! It's a black, strapless 80's style prom dress with a huge bow on the back and a really poofy skirt! I'm thinking that it will look great with a hot pink feather boa and either hot pink heels (or black cowboy boots :p):D

Isn't it just gorgeous!?:D I'm not really sure where we're going yet..Me and another girl are co-maid of honors...I took care of the bridal shower so she is more in charge of the bachelorette party. I know that she is making up riddles and Amanda has to solve them to figure out where we are headed next. We'll start out at the other MOH's house and open the gifts while we're there (and yes, inappropriate gifts are definitely welcome!:D), then we're heading to a restaurant to eat supper. I'm sure then, we'll head to Aggieville (it's a part of town that all the bars are in) and do a pub crawl. Since yall are starting at the MOH, you should play a game... Drop your panties at the door!

Everyone brings a new pair of panties (all goes to bride eventually) ... different styles are the best fun.... everyone drops their panties in a bag before coming in then once the party is started, hang all the panties on a clothes line and have the bride guess who brought what. Its always fun!
