MIA for a while
 
I'm leaving for NC in the morning. My mom is having carpel tunnel surgery and I'm going up to help her be one handed for a while. I have no idea how long I'll be gone, I'm guessing about a week. So, y'all don't have too much fun without me and if I'm not answering PMs or profile messages it's not 'cause I don't love you!:p I'm sure I'll manage to sneak in some computer time up there but probably not much.

At the same time?:eek: We've already come up with a huge list of things that are hard to do one handed- putting toothpaste on brush, putting on a bra, opening anything with a child proof cap or really even without, washing face, blow drying hair- it's amazing how much we rely on two hands I can't even imagine both. How was she afterward pain wise?

Thank you!:) We always have a blast together so it will be all fun once she is able to ease off the percocet(sp?).

No, she had each done a few months apart. I think she was fine after a few days. I don't remember her taking off much time from work (she might have taken off a few days but nothing to major). Is it horrible that I never thought of her having to do things one handed? I think she had a soft cast-type thing but that could do most stuff. Honestly, the thing that I remember the most is skipping school to sit while she was having surgery and driving her home. :p

Well any chance to skip school is memorable.:p They're telling my mom she has to keep it elevated and zero use for 3 days but we'll see. You're not terrible- most of the things that got us thinking were girly things (hair, makeup, bra, makeup removal, etc.). The things she doesn't trust her hubby to handle for her (well hopefully he could handle a bra:D but the other things). She has 7 acres, 2 horses, 2 dogs and 3 cats so he'll be busy enough as it is.

I'm sure she'll be fine. The fun part is the first evening when she'll be out of it and you can tell her weird stuff and make say random things. :p

Well that will be tomorrow night after we break out the wine:p. She doesn't drink much but we always hit the wine my first night and she is a serious light weight. She's had a few elective surgeries that I've taken her to and she is beyond hilarious coming out of anesthesia. The most fun to mess with. She took me for a surgery once and thought it would be payback time. Apparently all I did was repeatedly ask if anyone was mad at me. You promise? I didn't do anything? No one's mad? God only knows what odd things are hiding in my subconcious.:rolleyes:

Thank you so much everyone!:) She's out of surgery and all went well. She is sleeping and I'm online desperately searching for a carrier. At my first pit stop on the way up I realized Sugar had gotten too big for his carrier.:eek: I've got a message in to Sassypup to see if she can get her Kwiggy Bo Alyson to me before I have to go home- fingers crossed. I'm having the worst time finding one that I can be sure will get here in time and I really don't want to make that return trip with just my sling carrier that doesn't hide him at all.

Aww, thanks Maria! It's kind of funny because I started this MIA thread and was only offline for one day.:p I should have know I'd never stay away.:D I feel like I probably wont be online much after this but I'm not making any promises this time.;)

Sassypup is going to be able to get it to me in time- yay! I don't know how to check my email from here (didn't think about my gmail account- duh) so we've been having to communicate through YT PMs giving me an excuse to come check on y'all.

I'm hoping to come home on Monday but we're having to wait and see what Hanna is going to do.
