Walk for charity I am thinking about participating in walk to fight one of chronic illness thing... I walked for local rape crisis center fundraising walk twice but didn't have to raise money to participate. I just needed to pay to participate. So this walk that I am thinking about is coming up next month. I wonder if I really have to raise tons of money or small amount will be okay... because this will be such a short time. |
does anyone have any experiences in walk and fundraising? |
My father in law has MS and they just got a walk a thon going in our area 2 years ago. My 4 boy's do the walk every year now and they don't really set an amount that they need to raise. You can set a goal and they have prizes for amounts a person collects, like a t shirt if you get $100 in donations and such, I can't remember the prises you can get, just the t shirts because that is what my boy's got:) We did the March of Dimes walk also but again we did not have to collect a ton of donations for it. I am not sure how other's work their walk a thons so it could be a lot different depending on what place you will be walking for. Usually any amount a person can get raised for the event is much appreciated. |
I think any donation amount that you could get would be appreciated! The only one I have ever heard where there is a huge particpation fee is for Breast Cancer Awareness. I would suggest building a website too so you can collect $ easily from all over. Thats what I did for Sam & I for our charity walk for Operation Kindness! |
You go girl:D:thumbup: make sure to take some pictures:thumbup: |
