Anyone else.. ..calling for hotel reservations for Gustav? We're leaving early because Mom and Dad's health is too bad to get stuck in all the trafic. The Governor has already called a State of Emergency for Texas and voluntary evacs will begin in the morning and mandatory sunday if the storm stays on predicted path. This time I will have the laptop to keep up with things. Hoping Gizmo and Bubba travel well. Nathan (grandson) had his checkup in Houston yesterday and is back on a monitor for now. The hospital there said he needs to be in Houston during all this so they are making preperations for son and his family to be there. Guys, keep a close watch on this storm. It's supposed to be a cat 3 when it does make landfall. If it turns away at the last minute, great..but can't take a chance with my parents. |
You are so smart to plan ahead and stay safe. Sending you positive thoughts! We're watching to see what Hannah is going to do. My county had so much flooding from Fay we really can't take another storm yet. Normally I wouldn't be too concerned this early on but I going up to North Carolina on Monday for my mom who is having surgery on Tuesday. If Hannah hits I hate to think of being away from my husband and daughter. |
We're going to Corpus to see my niece and nephews. We're leaving tonight. We'll be watching the weather to see if we need to leave for home earlier than planned. I can't believe we're going toward the coast this weekend. |
Please stay safe everyone! prayers are going out to those in this hurricane's path! |

I will keep you and all those who live in Gustav's path in my thoughts and prayers. I grew up in Jacksonville, Fl about 20 minutes from the Atlantic. I remember some pretty fierce hurricanes and how scary it was. Especially during the "eye" when everything was so quiet. I |

GOOD LUCK and prayers to ALL going thru this.....It's so scary to see the gulf full of hurricanes. As always - I'm staying put and praying. Can't afford the travel and hotel so hopefully things will NOT get like they say they will....Most of the time my area doesnt get the brunt but we never know till the last minute I feel SO bad for those in Louisana - they must be having panic attacks hearing it's headed their way after the last MONSTER hit them so bad.....TX too - :( |
Stay safe everyone. |
Stay safe everyone you will be in my prayers. |
wellll. we are not evacuating, but "hosting" evacuees from New Orleans... I live in Baton Rouge, right in the center of his path but he should blow down before he gets to us... we are as ready as we can get! Prayers to all! d |
Praying for all in Gustav's path. I am calling my dad in the morn to find out his plans. He got the worst of Katrina. YOU never know where it will turn:( |
Gizmo is hurt.. Gizmo was let out of the hotel room by the cleaning lady I guess. Came back from the store and he was in the parking lot limping..his little knee is all tore up like a kid that fell off his bike. He either fell down the stairs or a car hit him in the parking lot. Dad checked him out and it's not broken but he's all banged up. He let me trim the hair around it and I put peroxide and Neosporin. I gave him his meds he takes for storms and he is resting. What is safe to give him for pain?:( He weighs 11 pounds. There are NO vets aound here and roads are bumper to bumper with evacuees streaming in from houston. I feel so bad for him. I feel like going down there and hurting someone. They barely speak english so no use. |
How is Gizmo doing? |
