I am devestated....my computer crashed...I lost ALL of my pictures I can't believe that I lost all of my pictures. I kind of feel like someone died. I am so upset. I am just hoping that my Uncle who is good with computers can somehow find them somewhere in the hard drive. My computer has been acting up terribly and crashed last night. I had to put in the restore system cd's. All of my pictures of my family, my pets, those great ones of Mercedes and the rest of the pups, Tiah as a pup....all gone! |
Oh no, Julz! Say it isn't so! Good thing you've posted so many here! I know how you feel. My computer did the same thing and I totally lost ALL my pics of Sophie who passed away in Feb. I don't have a single one left, just a couple hard copies of when she was a pup. I sure hope you can get them! |
Oh No!!! I hope he can fix it! I would be devastated if that happened. |
Julz, I know what you're going through. I bought the biggest piece of name-brand junk computer a few years back and I lost all information from it 4 times. [I did nothing different than I have with any other computer and never had that problem before. And, as I've learned, when you buy a brand new computer and it freezes on the first day- return it!] From losing all of my information multiple times (college papers, projects, photos, etc) I've learned to burn all of my information that I can't lose onto a CD right after I put it on my computer. It's a pain in the butt, and although I didn't learn the first time, I did learn the second, third, and forth time. I know it's not any help at this point, but hopefullly you can get your information back and back-up everything. You've posted quite a few photos on here of your babies so you haven't lost everything. Have faith in your uncle- it's amazing what some people are able to do. |
Don't give up on it. Check with a computer specialist and see if they can be recovered. Also...I have my pics and all my files backed up on an external hard drive. The best 299. I ever spent. I feel a little safer. Good luck with getting them back. |
I feel so bad for you - hopefully your uncle will be able to work some magic & recover them for you. I copied all of my pictures over to an external hard drive for back-up & it completely crashed a couple of weeks ago (two years worth of pictures!!) Thankfully, I still had my originals on my computer & had not deleted them yet. Last week I purchased a new computer with a dvd burner & have backed up all my pictures onto a dvd, plus a NEW external hard drive! My husband thinks I am nuts! but I don't want to take any chances with my pictures! My son (who works in computers) said NOTHING is ever lost - can always be recovered, might just have to ship it off & pay for someone to recover them for you. |
Do you have pictures stored here on YorkieTalk? Sorry this happened to you. I always get yelled at for not backing things up. :( |
Hi Julz. Do a harddrive search for files and folders and type in jpg. If the pictures are still there they will show up. Good luck and let us know. |
Aww sweety that sucks. You may still be able to get them. But I can imagine how hard it would be to loose all of those memories from their puppyhood. |
Aww I am so sorry.. I learn my lesson the hard way a couple of years ago.. I formatted my hard drive (by accident, trying to give myself more space) and I lost everything... I couldn't get anything back... Now I am always saving my pictures and documents to CD's.. Good luck and I hope you can get things back |
I feel so awful for you. We have been having computer problems lately - and just the other day I told my huband to burn all of our pics, about 3,000 images onto cd's. if I were to ever lose them, well i don't know... Sometimes these things can be restored, keep the faith and let us know. |
Thanks for the warning. I need to do a backup and save everyhting on a disk. So sorry that happened! :( |
