Anyone Ever get married in Las Vegas?
 
I know a lot of my friends (my brother included) that has gotten Married at Las Vegas (a little white wedding chapel to be exact).

I was wondering if any of you YT'ers got married at Las Vegas similar to a chapel like this, or anything similar to this :D

I didn't personally marry in Vegas but my son did 2 years
ago on the 4th of July and he also was married in a cute
little white chapel.

i am engaged now and we are having a little "silent war of the in laws" from the begining..... my fiances GRANDMOTHER is a little pissed off that we are not getting married in a church, we want to get married here:http://radified.com/crystal_cove/crystal_01/
It is a special spot of my mom and dads, and it was my fiances idea :)
what do you all think?????
and i want the reception to be casual louaou (sp?) style.... i think i am going to have my fiance wear a hawaiian shirt and my mom is going to make my dress (probably a white sundress since it is the beach :rolleyes: )

That sounds beautiful! I'm only asking because My boyfriend and I have been together for 5 years and 1 month.. lol.. well he recently proposed to me.. and we just wanted something very small and simple..

i'm still kind of in shock actually lol.. :D

how funny! my fiance and i have recently just gotten engaged (only last december) and we are coming up on uor fifth year together here soon :p

I think the place is beautiful! I also think that you need to do
what is in your heart. It doesn't and shouldn't matter what
anyone else thinks if they are happy for you then what the
heck does the location you choose matter to them? You can
always have a very small ceremony in a church to re affirm
your vows at a later time if the church is a huge issue.

the church isnt an issue to me......... frankly, i have never been to church, i dont really care to go, and you need to take like a year of classes to get married :eek: (after 5 yrs of college so far, the last thing i need is more classes)

actually xtine, have you considered a courthouse wedding????? they do up the court house REALLY CUTE on valentines day (and youre "husband" will be less enclined to forget an anniversary on this day)...lol

Las Vegas sounds like a lot of fun, then you can do your honeymoon in Vegas right after ;)

Or.... How about Hawaii?? Wouldnt that be beautiful, then honeymoon in Hawaii right after... ahhh! I wish!

I always wanted to get married in Hawaii.. I always dreamed of going away to a tropical beach and getting married at sunset :D

BUT my husband comes from a large Catholic family so we had to do the big Catholic church ceremony. It was really nice, the best day of my life but I still dream about the simple beach wedding.

We are thinking about renewing our vows one day and doin it my way ;)

My nephew got married in the DRIVE THROUGH at the wedding chapel in Vegas. The marriage didn't last. Go figure. :confused:

I never thought of that actually, thanks for the Idea.. We're actually planning the wedding probably middle of next year though (we just got engaged a few days ago lol) .. and i have NO idea what in the world i'm doing really lol

they have SOoooooooooooooo many helpful books that will point you in the right direction..... i will look for the one that i saw in barnes and noble and pm you with the title, it looked really good

How cool!!! My hubby and I got engaged after 5 yrs together!!!! Best wishes to you!!! That place looks like a beautiful place to be married!!! I myself and come to the conclusion that I will more than likely never get married because people annoy me too much. And I prefer to be single. :) :)

My parents JUST renewed their vows in Vegas and it was absolutely BEAUTIFUL!!!!! They actually did it at the MOST ADORABLE little chapel. It's called 'The Little Church of the West.' The staff was great, the place and the grounds are BEAUTIFUL. It was not tacky at all. They have a website: http://www.littlechurchlv.com/. It's on the same street of the strip, just down a little. If you are familiar with Vegas, it's actually walking distance from Mandalay Bay. I have a zillion pictures. I am going to post them for you in a bit.

Two of my cousins were married in Hawaii. Actually, my first cousin was married there because they don't (or at least didn't) have as strict same-sex marriage laws. After that, everyone fell in love, and my other cousin and her husband were married there a few years later. Both were married on the beach at sunset. Another family member works for an airline and was able to get buddy passes for everyone- significantly decreasing the cost of the trip. They did a reception a few months after they got back. Their total wedding, honeymoon, and reception cost was around $4,000. I used to want a big, elaborate wedding, but I keep thinking that what I would need to spend is a car or a down-payment on a house. And it's just ONE day! What's important is what you're creating- a union based on love. I'm still trying to convince my bf of this plan, but certain members of his family are a little "difficult" when things don't go their way, and he feels obligated for them to be there. (but that's a whole other story!)

I'm like you everyone annoys me. What wrong with people why can't they just leave me alone? But i found a good guy that doesn't annoy me near as much as everyone else does and he's a loner too. So I can go off on my own when I need to and it doesn't bother him one bit.

I was married in the church where my grandparents & parents were married and then we had a backyard reception very low key everyone was invited. We have a large family and it was important that everyone that wanted to come could. We honeymooned in Hawaii for 10 days, the flights a killer from IN, but it was wonderful. Maui was the best. But we also went to the big island and Ohau. I highly recommend it.

My Cousin got married in hawaii on a beach I believe, it was SO beautiful.. I can't go to hawaii though, everyone here is broke and wouldn't be able to make it lol..

it's funny though cause they could make it to Vegas! :rolleyes: lol... My brother got married at a little white wedding chapel. I know that Michael Jordan got married there and Demi Moore & Bruce Willis, also I think Britney Spears got married there too (the one that didn't last that long)..

I'm super excited, and i'm going to pick up those books that Orinskye showed me last night! woo hoo! :D

My aunt got married in Vegas..Not sure where tho.. but she loved it!
