What a good baby not to have cried. Bless his little heart. He is just beautiful!! |
He really is such a gorgeous boy! And good, too! I'm surprised he kept trying it since he clearly didn't enjoy it at all! |
Here's what Wikipedia says cottage pie is... it sounds YUMMY! Cottage pie, is a traditional English dish made with minced meat covered with mashed potato and often topped with cheese. While a variety of meats can be used, the dish is traditionally made from beef or lamb. The lamb version is often called shepherd's pie but neither term is exact. The meat is prepared by dicing or mincing, and frying with chopped onions, seasoning, and dripping (from the roast) or stock. In the UK, Oxo cubes are a popular form of stock for this dish. Other ingredients can include garlic, chopped carrots, peas or other vegetables, mushrooms, herbs (such as thyme and parsley), tomato purée, and wine. A quick version can be made using canned oxtail soup. The meat is laid in a dish and covered with mashed potato, to which milk, butter or dripping may be added. The upper surface of the mashed potato may be scored with a fork or, for a decorative effect, it may be piped. The pie is then baked in the oven, making the top surface golden and crisp. Grated cheese can be sprinkled on top prior to baking. |
he is just soooo cute, love watching him! d |
That was such a fun and entertaining video to watch! Alex is so darling and I loved seeing his expressions! What a little doll! I also enjoyed hearing your cute accent! I could listen to you talk all day! |
That is soo cute! Quote:
Nikki-Cottage pie is Shepherd's pie but made with ground beef rather than ground lamb. The only reason I even know that is my last husband loved both of them, so I had to make it a lot. I had never heard of it before we were together. The terms are used pretty interchangably in the US. If you go to a restaurant that advertises itself as a British or Irish pub and see Shepherd's pie on the menu, it will almost always be made with beef. I understand that look on Alex's cute little face. I never cared much for either of them. He's a really adorable little boy! |
