Laser Hair Removal?
 
Anyone use laser hair removal? I want to try it for underarm and bikini, but don't know which one is the safest one. Also, how painful is it? I'm researching right now on it.

We do laser hair removal at the medical office where I work. I've had my armpits done about 4 times. It stings a little but is bearable. Feels kinda like a rubber band being snapped on you. I LOVE the results, my armpits are smooth and soft.

Bikini line. Hurts. Would do it again in a heartbeat. Best money ever spent!

I've been wanting to do this too. How long does it last? How many treatments did you need to keep it off?

Bikini line here too. Pay the extra 25 dollars for the numbing cream and apply it liberally. It is painful- not going to lie- just burns... some areas more than others (usually the areas that i forgot to put the cream!) and that night and the next day it is sore and i found it itched.. but like Ann said.. BEST money ever spent.. i'd do it again in a heartbeat and i'm saving to do under my arms. It took about 4 sessions for my bikini line to be complete.

I think I did a total of 5 treatments - and it's been about 5 years since I did it - and I've never used that damn razor since! :D

Now, if I only had the guts to put up w/ getting my legs done...

it CAN last years... your hair has cycles so when it is in its growth cycle you'll start to notice hairs taht didn't get done.. but hoestly.. i might have 7 of those... and if you need a touch up you'd just go in for one sitting because the hairs they DID get... stop growing and all that is left is the ones that never got zapped!

lol i feel the same way.. w'ell go together and hold eachothers hand through the whole thing :p but under my arms are next in line :D

Spend it. The other thing is too - the farther you get into the sessions - your hair gets lighter and finer - so they usually "turn up" the power - hence, it hurts more. And, Marci is right - some areas hurt more than others.

It may seem like a lot of money at first - but if you add up waxing (which is what I was doing, OUCH) and razors - over 5 years - you've practically paid for it right there. WORTH IT. END of razor bumps....:p

YOU GOT IT :D :D :D!!! I should do my underarms - it'd be such a cakewalk after the bikini - at least it dang well better be!

YES forgot to add they turn up the juice each time you go... and i just kept putting more cream on :p make sure you do it on a day where you can stay home leading up to it. I had to put the cream on 3 hours before in 30 min intervals and i did it once while i was at work... it was horrible... you have to put saran wrap on to keep the stuff from getting on your clothes and because I was up and walking around the cream didn't stay in place and the lazer hurt SO bad... almost cried.. last time i did that on a day where i had to work! Also she said it you do it close to the time you are expecting your period- it hurts a lot more too.

YEP! I always felt if it was the week before my cycle - I almost wanted TO END HER LIFE, that technician who was lasering me, poor thing! Hurt so bad! So yeah, timing is key...:p

Do you know what kind of laser should I stay away from and what kind do you recommend? Also do you know any questions I should ask?

No i dont' think it hurt as bad as waxing.. esp since you CAN numb yourself. Also where i go they put a cold wand on you before too to numb you even further. Waxing i find to be intense all over pain- the laser was like a needle sharp pain.. i'd rather do that than waxing any day of the week!
