What Books Woud You... Like to see made into movies that haven't already been done? When I was in my early twenties, I read the Hobit and the Trilogy of The Lord of the Rings. I thought they would make an excellent movie. Then they came out with that cartoon movie thing about the Hobbit and I was so ultra disappointed. The Brothers Hildebrandt had done some awesome artwork of this book and I thought the animation and all in the actual movie of the Hobbit would have been much better served if their type of art had been used instead. When the movies came out a while back of The Lord of The Rings, I was amazed at the rendering. MY GOODNESS! Their imaginative creations were so far beyond mine! They made some of the creatures so very frightening and I had a hard time watching some of it. :p So....what writings have you read that you think would make wonderful movies? I have quite a few, but I want to hear about yours. _______________________________________________ |

I love to read and not just one type of writing. I like so many different kinds. I really like historical fiction. I was never very good in history because I am not into memorizing 'the facts' like dates things happened. But I love to read how it affected the people. I have been reading some books by Diana Gabaldon. She is an excellent writer who is able to make you feel like 'you are there'. It is total fiction (about time travelers...) but I have enjoyed them. Sometimes she gets a bit 'steamy' if you knwo what I mean, but on the whole...excellent! The first one of the series is The Outlanders. I always hate it when the 'story' ends. I want to know 'what else' happened. :D Thank you for sharing. ____________________________________ |

I also am a Jamie fan. And a Claire fan for that matter. I was so happy that Jamie got to meet Bree. To me, Jamie is a very honorable man that has suffered so much and quite the warrior, eh? I quite agree with you that it would be difficult to cast him. They would probably want a 'pretty boy' for the part and he is definitley not a pretty boy in my mind. Strong. Purposeful. Masculine, but never a pretty boy.:) |
I would like to see more of the Alex Cross series from James Patterson to be made into movies. |

One of my alltime favorie books is "Eagle In The Sky' by Wilbur Smith. It is a very good one. Delta Decision by him is also excellent. Haven't read them in years, though. |
How about Reacher movies based on the Lee Child books? OMG, they would be awesome! But who could they get to play Reacher? I'm thinking maybe Daniel Craig. :) |
My Grandfather's Son. Clarence Thomas talks about his childhood all the way to his nomination to the supreme court. Awesome read, nothing like I expected. |
Eat, Pray, Love - but I think it's already been optioned. |
