Sweet 16 Party HELP OKay yes my daughter is gonna be the big 1-6 uggggggggggg Anyone have cool ideas on a theme....an easy theme. We are having it at the Golf & Country Club and the dj is lined up. He is a young (very HOT) DJ that works at the local radio station that is nearly IMPOSSIBLE to get but luckily he had a cancellation that night and said YES!! SO that hurdle is jumped already. whew..... Her party is Sept. 6th I need theme and favor ideas.....she doesnt want it to be a black and white party or a pink party as 2 girls used those themes this year already. http://i174.photobucket.com/albums/w...omandavery.jpg http://i174.photobucket.com/albums/w...msic/avery.jpg http://i174.photobucket.com/albums/w...Picture113.jpg http://i174.photobucket.com/albums/w...Picture050.jpg there are a few pics of her...kinda shows her personality she is a GOOF and always cuttin up. Not a girly girl but not a tomboy either. She is very mature & pretty athletic. so any ideas would be appreciated!!! |

Your Daughter is beautiful. I am no help I always do beach parties lol |
A gift suggestion My youngest daughter is now 20 but at 16 or 17 I found what she considers the best gift she ever recieved. I know this is not exactly what you were asking for but... she loves jewelry and we bought her a jewelry/mirror from QVC . It is a stand up mirror that opens up to a huge jewelry amoire. You can check it out on there web by putting in safekeeper jewelry box. I am buyin her older sister one for Christmas this year. I thought if she was into jewelry you could make it sort of the theme and her friends could each bring a piece of costume jerelry to fill it up. My daughter would not trade her for anything. Good luck are'nt daughters wonderful??? |
is it going to be co-ed? maybe you could do a comedy show? do an 'amateur night'/open mike thing! other fun things are a 'spa' type party (girls only?) with different masks and products, an 'around the world' party with different foods or decorations --a'la disney world countries--, or maybe pick one country and go with that. what have some of her other friends done? |

... I can't help on that one .... I have a little over 8 years until we have a sweet 16 Party ...... Sorry I am no help ..... |
wait wait! she's 16 on the 16th? can that be a theme...16 everything? |
I thing the comed idea is really good. She's a beautiful girl. |
Ok well an EASY theme would be a luau -- not a whole lot of work there. or HO-DOWN Chic (girls where the shorts/boots - boys wear the jeans/ hats) -- different things you could do there and easy... well thats two ideas Digs, I dont know if the kids are into this there...... but here the big thing is to rent blow ups (slides, bounce house, sumu wrestling etc) the kids LOVE it Now.... next question...... has the B-day girl made any comments on what kinda theme she would like to see? |

You mean you haven't bought her a new FatHead poster of Brett in his Jets jersey for her bedroom yet??? :) I knew a girl once whose mom surprised her by having a limo pick up all the other guests first and then show up at her house to pick her up to take her to the party. |
There are lots of great themes you could use: beach, Mardis Gras, Hollywood...someone mentioned a luau, and I thought that was good. I once did an event for work with that theme, and we were able to find a local group for hire for the evening that does the Polynesian dancing and fire twirling. Even though my daughter is old enough to go have a drink with me now, I haven't forgotten her 16th. Being a former live cast member, I was all for it when my daughter and her friends started getting into The Rocky Horror Picture Show. Instead of a party, she and her friends dressed up as the characters and went to a local showing. I did all the shout-outs of the '80's for them, and we had a great time. |
