Computer Virus Warning!!!!!!!!! My boss got this email, clicked on it and it crashed his laptop. Our IT department is not happy either. Not only did it crash his laptop, it started sending a bunch of email messages to his inbox, stating they were from Microsoft anti-virus or some such thing. Just checking the box to delete them further infects your computer, and who knows if it is sending messages to others in your contacts/address book. The E-Mail "appears" to come from MSNBC with a sub-title of either Olympic News and/or Mortgage Crises. Please remember the golden rule. "Just don't click on it" unless you are sure you know who it came from, and it is unsolicited. Never open an unsolicited email or an email from someone you don't know. |
We've been having problems at my work, too. Several people opened a .zip file that contained a virus. Bottom line: do NOT open emails or .zip files unless you're expecting one and you're sure where it's coming from! Our IT guy said to even delete these emails from our trash, just to be sure. |
I have received multiple email's from MSNBC/CNN in my bulk folder in the past 2 days, I just left them. I did not sign up for breaking news updates. Thanks for the warning. |
Hmmm...I wonder if this is what happend w/ my grandmother's computer?? She has all the anti-virus, pop-up blockers, etc installed, but she got a virus and it crashed her computer too! I really do NOT like dealing w/ stuff like this!!! Why don't these people get a life!!! --stop making up these things!!!! I mean...do they not have anything better to do than to create a computer virus?? --YES, we know you are smart and can create such a "clever" thing...but use those smarts for the greater good!!! Okay...I am finished! |
 ... thanks for the WARNING .... |
Thanks for your warning. |
one i recieved was something about mary-kate being guilty for Heath Ledgers death. but it went to my spam box. so i tried to google the article and also went directly to msnbc. NOTHING! glad i didn't click on it! the one that caused me to open it was an email from 'amazon' stating that my transaction for -a tv?- for 4900 had been processed. i was so angry!! i called my husband (thinking it was him) and was like, 'Did you buy a TV??' since i had opened the email it caused a stupid virus. he hadn't bought a tv...we didn't even have 300 in the bank, so i should have known better. also, a tip from him is to see WHO the email is sent TO. if your email address is NOT in the TO line, don't trust it. |
I had one today, don't remember where it was from, about signing something for Michael Phelps. Sick minded people that do things like this makes me so angry. |
Yes, that is a virus!! Last week it was coming from CNN...same thing...don't click on it as it will say your flash player is out of date and to download the latest one and that is how the virus gets into your computer. Thanks for the warnings!! There are some SICK, SICK people out there with nothing better to do!!!:mad::mad: |
Something has crashed my laptop as well. I got a weird email and accidently opened it and the next thing I knew, my laptop was toast. Still haven't been able to fix it. |
