SUPER SALE!!! Sooo fun!!!! I bought a couple dresses at Macys a few weeks ago for weddings that are coming up in the next couple months. They were quite pricey! (well to me they were) One was $99 and the other was $159   The other day I got a coupon for 20% off at Macys and since I have not worn the dresses, tags still on them, I thought I'd take them to the store and see if I could get the discount. That would save me $52! I brought them to the store and asked if I could get the discount on them, the girl said absolutely, nothing is to stop me from returning them and rebuying them so they do honor coupons on previously purchased items. She returned them and credited my card $257. She rerang them up and both dresses were on sale now and I got the 20% off. So I ended up paying $47.50 for one dress and $76 for the other!!! Over $130 LESS than I originally paid!!!!! I was soooooooooo thrilled! How fun is that?? :) I just wanted to tell everyone my great deal and also to let you know that Macys will honor coupons on previously purchases items. Don't be afraid to take things back to check! In this economy, every little penny saved helps!!! :) :) |
A dress is always better when its a bargain! Great job!! That reminds me..i need to buy a dress for an up-coming wedding. Have fun at the weddings!! |
Macy's can have a way of surprising you, in a good way. :) I once got a "miracle dress" there. My Mom and I (when I'm home with my family) commonly go to the mall and then look around Macy's. My weakness (one of many) is pretty dresses, so we'll look at the dress dept. One time I found one that I just loved, but there was no tag on it so we didn't know the size OR the price. My Mom said just try it on, so I did, not only did it fit but it looked fabulous! We went to the register to find out how much it was and it was on crazy sale! Normally it should have been something like $300 dollars but we got it for something crazy like $50!!! Lesson to be learned: always check, it can't hurt and you may just be surprised! :D (Coincidentally, my family used to cruise a lot and so I needed two formal dresses/gowns. This wound up being one of them and I got the other on a great, it was really only that much?!?! sale at Macy's too, just by trying.) |
I LOVED Filenes so very much ... and Filenes was always like that for me. I got unbelievable prices! So when filenes was bought out by Macys and closed down I was soooo upset. At my local mall, Macys moved into the old Filenes (which was much nicer) and now I am a total Macys girl. Love it! Great sales ... great prices, all the names I love. Great coupons too. Some people think you need to be rich to shop at Macys, but you just gotta know when and where to look. Ive gotten such nice expensive clothes for a fraction of the price there! A POLO sweater one time that was $100, I got for $24. A pair of Nine West boots that were $120 that I got for $30. I get shoes there for under $20 sooo often I now have a collection of shoes that are more than a year old and never been worn bc I loved them and the prices were like $12 from $80 or $18 from $100. Crazy good sales there! |
