Garment Steamers Does anybody own one and if so, does it work better than your regular iron? Which brand did you get? |
I love, love, love mine!! I used to iron everything, but now I pretty much use the steamer all the time and the iron only when I have to have creases. It works great! I actually bought mine at Home Depot, but I can't remember the brand. I'll go look at it in a few minutes. It was definitely worth it in my opinion. I used to spend soooo much time ironing, and with the steamer, it get the job done perfectly in much less time. |
I got mine on QVC and love it. It works so well on cotton that gets really wrinkly and silk. It definitely beats ironing |
i heard you can be easily burned by them. |
I have Joy Mandgano's My Little Steamer - It works well and I do use it more than the iron now Joy Mangano My Little Steamer with Retractable Cord at HSN.com She is always changing the colors - I got mine a yr ago and it is light blue - mine doesn't have a retractable cord like the new ones :( |
I not only hate ironing, but I'm tired of it. Today as I was ironing and flipping channels I saw an infomercial with Tobi the garment steamer. I never buy stuff from infomercials, but I was sooooo ready to order, but then something inside me told me ....Stop! do some research and that is why I'm here. I also looked for reviews on the tobi one, and it doesn't have very good reviews.... |
I don't own one, but Ive used them when I used to work at a retail clothing store! Those things are THE BEST! You can get your 'ironing' done in like half the time that an actual iron would take, its way easier, you just hang the item and then when you are done, put it back in the closet. oohhh I do want one. I do find that a wet facecloth size towel in the dryer with a garmet for about 10 mins works also. |
what is the average price on those? The one on the infomercial was 99 + shipping. |
Mine was on sale for $40...alot cheaper than I expected to pay. We had been looking around at a bunch of them and happened to go into HomeDepot and found one for $40. I couldn't believe it. |
Avon sells a little $20 handheld steamer that I just recently ordered. Haven't got it yet so I can't comment yet on how good it works. I only wanted it for minor touch up jobs anyway so tiny and cheap worked for me. |
