Stay away from this boxed hair color I had my mom color my hair with the new L'oreal Paris Dream Blonde hair color last night. I 100% regret it. Not even 2 minutes after she started applying it, my scalp started burning and stinging. I left it on for a few more minutes then had to go wash it out. I'm used to coloring and highlighting my hair and have NEVER run into something like this. I even went to beauty school for almost a year and had never heard about it there. After I washed it out really good, I let my hair air dry and it still felt weird so I touched my scalp with my fingers and it looked like I had poured water on my fingers, it was pussing so bad! My scalp now has abrasions/sores all over it especially on top. It hurts so bad and itches but I've left it alone and I'm not going to wash it for 2 days or until it starts healing some. My hair is also now a gross orange color where I had to wash it out before it could process. I searched for the product name in Google and was seriously not surprised when I saw the product had been recalled in Jan./Feb. but for a different shade. I e-mailed them about my experience as the dye was $15! Stay away from this dye ladies, it's so painful!:thumbdown:confused::mad::( |
I dont use the colors but thank you for the info and I am so sorry to hear about your painfull experience. |
:eek:wow girl thankyou for let us know, sorry that you had to go through this:( |
Ouch !! thanks for the info.... |
Thanks for letting us know. I would definetly try to get a refund. |
OMG, I am so sorry that your head is hurting from this product! I get coloring from my stylist, but have never tried using it from the box. Wow, it is a good thing you called, too, cause it sounds like maybe your color will be on recall now too. Hope it starts feeling better soon! |
I'm sorry this happen to you. Maybe go back to your own color. Nothing prettier than the natural color. ;) |
I am sorry you had to go through this. As someone who used to color their hair a lot, I used to worry about something like that happening to me. |

I went to beauty school too. One thing to remember when using a different product...is to always do a spot test. The directions tell you to do that. I have found even with a product you've always used you can have a reaction to it, so you always need to be careful when using chemicals on your body. I hope you heal real fast. I had orange hair once, only I'm a brunette. You may want to be very careful the next time you do your hair with any product...you may have a reaction to that too. |
Oh! I feel so badly for you! It has to be painful and then the color, I'm sure, is very distressing. I let my sister attempt to dye my hair and she had had more to drink than I realized. I had to fly out of San Diego the next morning very early. I was afraid to open my mouth because I might quack instead of talk. I Googled your very color and found this (a recall on your color): (January 1 through January 18, 2008) L’Oréal Initiates Nationwide Recall of L’Oréal Paris Dream Blonde Bleach and Lightening Care Kit Due to Misprinted Directions It says this: All retailers have been notified and have removed the product from their shelves. Affected consumers, estimated at a few hundred, will receive a full refund for returned product. I would certainly take issue with whomever sold it to you since it WAS recalled. |

:eek:Ouch! I hope your scalp heals quickly. Thanks for sharing this info. I color my hair at home all the time and luckily have never had an experience like this. Wish I knew more about hair color though as I recently colored my hair black - and I mean black-black:eek: BIG mistake! |
