How Do I Get Rid of Her? There's this woman who works in my building. She got her Shih Tzu on the same day I got Stewie and ever since, we have been trading pics and sharing stories -- sometimes via e-mail and sometimes in person. Ok, well she is trying to start her own church (I think  ) and sends me 10-12 e-mails per day with prayers and verses and other things promoting her church. One e-mail today said: Subj: Urgent Prayer Requests Please pray for so and so who is going away to college Please pray for so and so who is going to blah blah blah call them at home (numbers inserted) and let them know you're thinking about them! I don't know these people are and I am not going to call them. I am really annoyed with these e-mails of psalms and prayers and some just plain nonsense! Should I email her asking her to take me off her list? Should I tell her in person that I don't want to receive them? What should I do? |
It's best just to be honest with her. I sometimes get email from well intentioned people that I would rather not get. Usually, I just forward it back with a short note saying that although I appreciate their thinking about me I would rather they didn't send me any more emails of that nature. |
I would send her an e-mail first asking to be removed from her mailing list. If she doesn't do as you ask, then ask her in person and tell her that this is a second request. If she still sends them to you, I'd tell your boss. This can be seen as harrassment. |
Good ideas. Kimberley - We dont have the same boss. I rarely see her in person. She works a floor above me - not for the same "company". |
I think it's ok to to kindly email her and ask that you be removed from her email list with a thank you. Enough said. She doesn't even need to know why. She insists to know why, then tell her truthfully. |
BUT, your boss could mention it to her boss. There are ways to get this to stop. I know how ANNOYING it can be to get unwanted e-mails. Tell her that you enjoy talking about your dogs but 10-12 e-mails a day on that other stuff is clogging up your in-box. LOL. Be straight forward but firm with her. She should respect your wishes. Good luck! ;) |

Kristy~ There is also a way to divide up your emails into categories so you can just go into her "file" every once in a while and delete them and then you have not offended her in any way. You can also block her emails and just claim it is the way your virus protection works if she asks. She sounds well intentioned and you probably don't want to hurt her feelings so this may be a better approach. |
tell her you dont have a religon and you dont believe in prayer HEHE LOL |

Disclaimer: I do believe in God and I meant no disrespect to christians just thought it might be funny to watch her head spin around. Plus I would get upset if someone was asking me to pray for people I didn't know that's something that should go on with people that attend your church not just random people you know especially if you don't know for sure what their religious stand point is. I would probably do nothing, but I don't like conflict. I think the best would be to tell her the truth. Tell her your sorry these people have problems and you wish them the best, but you don't really wanna hear about people you don't know. |

I know where you are coming from. My husbands aunt is like this. She is always sending me stuff like this all the time. When we both had aol you can tell what e-mail was read, the time and day it was read, and if it was just deleted. And she check all the time and would ask me,,,,,, why didn't you read the e-mail? I was like,,,,,, "how do you know this." And thought to myself oh shoot I better stop deleting her e-mails or I am going to haties. LOL like if she had some kind of magical powers. LOL But then I seen how she was finding out how I didn't read them. I findly had to tell her nicely,,, My believes are different then hers and to please stop sending me these type of e-mail. Then she called me and told me,,,,, It would be in my best interest if I start believing if I want to walk in the lords glory in the here after. And started to pry on the phone for me. I am Catholic and do believe but don't want to talked down to as if I don't know anything. And that's what she does in person and in her e-mails. The e-mails stoped for a while. And she wont preach to me at least,,,,,,, I will get one or 2 e-mails every so often but no longer have aol so she can't tell if I delete them. SoCalyorkiLvr had a good idea. I wish you luck on this one! |
I agree.. I would first e-mail her saying that you want to be taken off of her mailing list.. if that doesn't work, block her address so you wot recieve e-mails.. Good luck |
Just got this one: ANOTHER URGENT PRAYER REQUEST FOR Bro. Clyde Lastname Psalms 1:3 "He shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that brings forth its fruit in its season, whose leaf also shall not wither; and whatever he does shall prosper." Urgent prayer is need for Churchname's praise and worship leader, Minister Clyde Lastname, Jr. He is currently hospitalized with a heart condition, the exact condition is currently unknown. He has had this issue before. Please keep him in your prayers. I will send more information as I receive it. Thanks! ughhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh |
