wisdom teeth My dentist has been saying for like 2 years now that I need my wisdom teeth pulled, but I'm really thinking it's time. My teeth are aching so bad and it's even making me ears ache. Is that even possible?! Any temporary pain solutions? Motrin and tylenol stuff don't work for me. |
ask your dentist or call a nurse for any advice on what to take for pain.. id say get them removed ASAP.. i got my bottoms ones removed cuz they were growing completely in the wrong directions but left my top ones.. they already grew out and my dentist is pushing me to get it out.. i dont understand why tho if they already grew out.. for me i feel like its all for the money thats why i havent done it but its obvious yours needs to come out if its causing pain.. ouch! |

... stupid wisdom teeth. Why do they even grow if you don't need them? It's like an appendix... what's the point? |
I had mine out in december, mine were causing shooting pains in my ears. I would get them out as soon as you can before they get any worse. |

I can tell you though, it's definitely a relief not having them. |
I had impacted wisdom teeth and experienced pain similar to yours. Oral surgery stinks, but just get them taken out. Ask your doc if he can prescribe you something for pain until then. |
I totally feel your pain:(....literally! I am having oral surgery to have all four of mine removed on Monday morning. They have been bothering me for years but this time, they started making the rest of my teeth ache so I knew it was time for them to come out. My dr suggested I take 500 mg Ibprofen for the pain...1 pill every 2-3 hours as you need. He said by only taking one at a time, the dosage will remain constant in your system. |
I used aleve before and after the surgery for the pain..worked really well. |
My daughter had hers out today. They gave her ibuprofen and the generic version of percocet. She thinks they don't help the pain and just make her tired. I'm like yeah, if you sleep you don't hurt. ??? Goof. Her had been pushing her other teeth forward and giving her bad headaches. They say teeth issues can trigger other health symptoms. I would suggest getting yours done as soon as you can and not put it off. |
I need to get it looked at ASAP. The problem is right now, I don't have a car and no way to get anywhere. I'm hopefully getting my car fixed this weekend so I'll be able to at least make a dentist appointment Monday. If not I'm going to my doctor to get pain meds cause my doctor's office is in the building that I work. I'm taking 600 mgs of ibuprofen and it seems to help SOME. |
For those of you having your wisdom teeth pulled (or other similar oral surgery) here is something I accidentally tried that worked wonders for me and everyone I've suggested it to since. Drink some room temperature tea. Let it sit in your mouth for several seconds before swallowing. The tannic acid in the tea is SOOOOO soothing on those horribly abused gums and/or tissues. It must work similarly to placing tea bags on your puffy eyes. It really reduces the inflamation, and it was so just so soothing. I've given the tip to several people since, and every single one of them says it works wonders. Good luck to anyone having dental work! :) |
Ohh no ... I fell your pain ..... I would take Tylenol 3 or something like that ..... hope you feel better soon .... |
The only thing that's really going to give you relief is to have them removed. I feel for you. I still have 2. One came in and the other is impacted. I'm not going to bother it until it bothers me:D I had one surgically removed when I was in my 20's. It was sideways and impacted. I well remember being up all night for WEEKS before having it removed because I'm terrified of the dentist. After it was removed, I had dry socket. It STILL didn't hurt as bad as that tooth did. Good luck - hope you feel better soon! |
I had my wisdom teeth cut out when I was 18, i ended up with 2 dry sockets and had to have them packed. Just this last week I had my back molar removed because it was cracked and killing me. It had been cracked for a while but just recently started hurting. so I found a dentist and had it pulled. It feels better and I am getting sleep now at least. he left it open so I have this huge hole in my gum. still taking motrin and tylenol. I alternate the 2 so I can keep it in my system and he gave me percocet for really bad pain, yes it really does help no matter what your daughter says. the dentist also told me to put a luke warm teabag on the site and it would help. Just wanted to let you know I feel your pain literaly. |
